Simmonds scores and Lehtera even gets an assist. Awesome!

Man that was ugly for the 2nd and most of the 3rd but they did what they had to do and got the right result.

Hagg looks like a vet. Sanhiem looks like he's getting more comfortable every game. Good stuff.

Patrick wasn't benched in the 3rd was he? Felt like I didn't see him out on the ice at all.

Glad to get those two points in the bank

I just think this team feels so different than last year. This team has some serious growth potential

I am not trying to overstate his role in it, nor am i saying that he is a finished product, but I think it is notable that the Flyers, as a team, have given up just two goals in Sanheim's last two games played

Again, not overstating his role in it. Just saying that it's nice to see they aren't getting strafed with the young defenders in the lineup

He didn't have a good game but his ice time was about normal. He wasn't very noticeable and did lose a board battle which led to the only goal.

It's a speed league. When you can trot out a D corps where Radko Gudas is your worst skater, you are in good shape. Can't wait til Weal & Leier get back in too. There is no such thing as having too much speed.

Nobody want to give props to our defensive mvp MacDonald who had an excellent game ?

MacDonald has played very well so far. I was all on board the 3 rookies on D train coming out of pre-season, in part because I thought MacDonald had a bad camp. That's obviously changed but I am happy with Hagg and Sanheim. Morin will be here when he gets here, but I'm also more confident in the D depth than I am the forward depth.

The biggest improvement the team as a whole has made to this point this season is that they're solid defensively. Sanheim belongs in the lineup the rest of the season.

Nice win. On their heels for extended periods but I thought they did a really good job limiting Edmonton's chances even when hemmed in. Didn't notice McDavid all that much. Cashed in on their few chances, and that's what good teams do.

He gets the win, but Eliott doesn't look as good as Neuvirth.

it's amazing how noticeable the absences of Leier and Weal are. Hope those guys can get back soon.

just read Meltzer s tweet about the damage to Simmonds mouth on Thursday, holy crap, what an unbelievable team mate. The passing was generally horrendous today, but the team defense saved the day. Thats a good, grind it out type of win.
