Last postseason's two games in coaching "SAFE = DEATH" in their 3rd Periods with leads blown, resulting in losses instead, and changing that Ottawa series win in 5 games into a series loss in 6, may have been the beginning warning signs as well.

Maybe next game A/V. will pick his forward lines first, followed by his d'man pairings out of that team hat awarded to the Ranger player deserving it after a win. He may also pick his starting goalie from it as well, because for a team that wanted to give Hank at least 20 to 25 games of rest, to be fresher for the postseason, Pavelec may never get another start with their desperation to win a second game with 10% of their season over already. At this rate, Pavelec will receive only another 7 starts for the season, giving Hank 74 in total. Maybe A.V. forgot Hank's age since the season began, among many other things with his job.

What would you or any Rangers fan have said back then if they traded, or worse, allowed Hank to walk free instead, not knowing how a Cam Talbot would pan out in just a backup role long enough?
This season, Cam's numbers are not good thus far also, despite playing with the same offensively overloaded, Edmonton Oilers. It's a team game requiring having a MUST in the nets. At that time, Hank was a MUST, and top World Class goaltender, required to be paid like one.
