Ghost is amazing. I feel like he buries it if Coots doesn't flub that pass. Dynamic.
- FloHaake

What the heck was that? That's gotta happen during that (frank)ing play in that situation? Pissed me off. That's a once in 10,000 occurrence

Oh well.

Couts is a monster. What a game by him. These preds games have been frustrating but what we have looks like a playoff team as long as lehtera goes away

Lehtera is such hot garbage, i am actually wondering about the schenn trade
- Just5

Nothing to wonder about. Trade was about the future. Lehtera was a throw in.

Thought d was great tonight....solid effort...forwards seemed to fight the puck tonight. Lehtera didn't look good at all....but to be fair he hasn't seen the ice all year...Ghost looks great, and appears to be better in his own end. Laughton has really improved....that whole line plays a smart responsible game.
Unfortunately you need to score to win.

Lehtera isn't a fixture, I don't know what's up with Weal but it doesn't sound too serious. He'll be in there by next week at the latest and that 2nd line will play well again. He's a real player.

I hope Sanhiem stays in. I'll probably end up saying that after 30+ games this season but that kid can skate like the wind and showed he can play defensively too tonight. Clear upgrade over Manning. He made a few things happen tonight.

Maybe you could not make an ill advised pinch and skate a little faster than 7 mph down the ice back checking?

Just a few suggestions.

This is about the 3rd time you've incorrectly blamed MacDonald for a goal against. There is either a bias or a lack of recognizing what actually happened. MacDonald was making an offensive play which is part of the Flyers attack scheme offensively. Simmonds was the forward back who instead of adopting a defensive posture, decided to gamble on the puck in the offensive zone and didn't get to it. MacDonald hustles his ass off to get back.

Let's not overlook Rinne played a hell of a game tonight, robbed us at least 3 times and kept the puck out of the net during the Flyers' flurry in the first 10 mins

Kind of wish sanheim would loosen up a little bit. I know it's early in his career but you didn't make it here being a steady eddy
- Just5

Not sure what you're looking at but Sanheim played a solid game.

I didn't blame MacDonald, fool. I said Lehtera was slow backchecking, and meant Simmonds made the bad pinch. Guess I didn't actually come out and say the bad pinch was Simmonds, but you're so argumentative that you just had to assume that

Couturier is playing really good at both ends....I didn't think he was a good second line centre....he's showing glimpses of being a number one...good on him.

The Ugly
3rd line. Jesus H Christ. Tire fire. Lehtera is bad, Simmonds is Simmonds 5v5, and Filppula is pedestrian as we know. The 3 together is exactly what you'd expect. Very bad.

- Giroux_Is_God

I agree that line didn't have a good game as a line. On the whole, this myth that Simmonds isn't an effective player at 5 on 5 is nonsense. Filppula has been a solid player for the Flyers to this point of the season.

Absolutely. Thought it was sanheims best game, against a great team it was nice to see.

They missed weal. He brings so much to this team. Think about last year when he was added.

I was one of those people saying Weal would be a good player to have but by no means a killer or game changer if he wasn't re-signed during that "sweepstakes".

Boy was I wrong. Looking at the game tonight is it too quick to say he's integral to the top 6? The sure did miss him

yeah, and he was fortunate a few times as well.

flyers made 1 mistake if you can call it that, and it cost them. all 3 goals against Neuvirth in his 2 losses, both shut outs, were odd man rushes.

i was only able to watch the last period closely...seemed to me the flyers were a bit flat. nashville didn't have much jump either. it's disappointing to see them play like that and lose a 1-0 game, wasting a goalie performance, and not cranked up for nashville based on the debacle against them last week.

flyers honor ed snider and get shut out. shocking.

Macdonald made a correct pinch if he was a good player. But he pinched, got the puck, turned it over, and it went back the other way. Simmonds made a correct gamble as well and couldn't poke it away.

Execution fail

Sanheim was up on the play a number of times filling holes late offensively. He played a solid game on both ends.

That save on Coots too where G made the behind the back pass? That was a goal had it not deflected off the D. Made it flutter right into him, he had the whole right side to shoot at.

Giroux pinching would have required a 10 beller had he not been defended.

I have full confidence in Ghost, as someone said, had Coots not whiffed that pass (ugh). That would have needed a 10 beller too.

The Preds controlled play mostly, but the checking was tight on each side with most chances coming off line rushes. Unfortunately Rinne was there for all of them.

You're right, it was Filppula who was skating through cement, unable to keep up with the forward he began marking as the play developed in the offensive zone. You got me there, I just read numbers wrong.

My point still stands regardless of last name. Our relatively slow forward was exposed.
