No, I see criticism because she's female, not because of her writing. Especially since the writin by guys here if somewhere between awful and horrific, but the same standard isn't applied. Her writing is different, but in no way is it worse than most that we see here - FFS, Garf has a banner spot, but the hate directed at Jillian was awful.

Never did I ever take a misogynist slant in criticising her writing. I criticized it because she promised to take an interesting take on hockey - looking at the culture of sport and its fans. Instead, we got a video blog of her travelling to a few games, revealing absolutely nothing of substance.

And for the record, I don't think that Garf or Tanner would agree with you that I go easy on them.

And there's the issue - its fans are not intersting. It's predominantly a bunch of dudes who call opposing players by women's names. And so when she commented on issues like this, it naturally turned into the same ridiculous bullpoop from the same commentators.
