SOB. Went from 3 weeks this morning to surgery and out indefinitely.
- poisondhearts37

Tendon surgery typically requires 2-3 months to recover from at minimum, with another several weeks of PT to get it back to original strength. I'm thinking we won't see Carter again until at least February.

he's still young and a former 30 goal man.

he won't come cheap imo.

I'll pass on Galcheynuk. He reminds me of Alex Frolov. Excellent skillset and potential, but no work ethic.

bozak plays C.

a couple 2nds should do the trick...

I'll give you a 5th round pick and a $20 gift card to Tim's in exchange for Bozak.

honestly, bozak is pretty good offensive player and a good faceoff guy. pretty soft defensively.

i think he has some value, but nothing great.

Have you thought about a gig in broadcasting? Also the Brown stripping of the C I think had a much bigger impact on the team than most of us realize. Especially with the way it went down. Plus the team was already in the downward spiral of tuning out Sutter.
- poisondhearts37

I took journalism for a couple years in college and was heading that direction actually

I think it did have a large impact and I think too the changes in management have had a positive effect. Overall it is showing with new coaching staff playing a lot more of the younger players and bringing them in with the veterans.

That said they still need to work on speed and need to add to scoring. Kempe had an amazing night in the end and they were able to pull off a great 3rd period but Montreal did show speed can completely negate their gameplan.

Carter's injury really puts a spotlight on the possible trade talks now. I could see JVR and a center, though doubt Bozak just on cap issues, for say Muzzin and a pick. It will be interesting to see what the Kings do especially if it is a longer term injury.

Honestly I could see JVR more with the Kings, and if he played center Leivo, but with Carter gone don't know if they wouldn't rather have the more offensive player in JVR than Bozak.

i hear ya.

one of the guys here has a concern about fitting jvr long-term under the cap. seems legit.

and center seems like it just became the priority.

There was the rumor he takes a cheaper deal to stay in Toronto. Other teams arent gonna get that deal. Hes gonna be to pricey for the current Kings budget. Even with a Gabby buyout.

I dont think you add ontop of Muzzin for Galcheynuk. Media makes it seem his value is pretty low. Not saying hes free. But Muzzin is a big prize for the Montreal defense. If his value truly is down I think even Montreal might have to add a little something.

agreed. muzzin is a top pair, all situations defenseman. MTL would die for that right now instead of shoehorning prospects into heavy minutes. weber-muzzin top pairing could look pretty good, or put muzzin on the second pairing to ease in other players.

Laich signed, would like to have seen dowd or kempe get a shot at 2nd line center. looks like they are going with shore.

sucks Carts is going to be out so long. Hoping that when Gabo comes back Stevens leaves Iafallo on the top line. its only a matter of time before that kid starts lighting the lamp.

I don't mind Laich, though 4th line duty he is not the fleetest of foot. Experience is good though and he is a loyal foot soldier type. I don't think you really want to move Kempe to the middle, it is a lot of pressure on him, and he is really coming into his own as a threat on the wing. The nice part is he is going to be a cheap stopgap option there for the Kings for now. The real question is replacing Carter's offence up front.

And been impressed with Iafallo so far. He's been fast, generating chances, and getting dirty along the boards and in the corners and making life very difficult for the opposition.

yeah, i think muzzin for galchenyuk is close in value. maybe the habs kick in a 2nd.

it's a bergy trade. younger player with personality problem for an older established vet.

I really have not been keeping big tabs on the guy to be honest. Not sure what his deal is lately all I know he’s been in the doghouse for a bit and does have a ton of skill. If it’s one for one I’m all for it for whoever they get 👍🏻

I don't see Laich jumping right in to Line 2 duties. I see Shore getting the nod first and if he struggles then maybe Kempe or Laich will move up. Even though he's mostly playing wing I would like to see the speed a Kempe, Toffoli, Pearson line would bring. This is a big road trip they are about to go on, so someone needs to step up.

Laich is not a 2nd line center at this stage of his career. He will play on the 4th line, or not at all. They will try Shore, Kempe, & Dowd at 2C, likely in that order. If none of that works out, then they'll explore a trade, likely involving Muzzin or Martinez.

Toronto is not one of our trading partners typically. I wouldn't say int's not possible, because we don't know who Blake will be working with, but I would look to organizations Blake has ties too
