i'd like to see fehr/leivo/borgman in for martin/rosen/moore. some fresh legs in on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.

Leafs Nation has vastly over-rated Pickard.

He cleared waivers when NHL teams had just named their rosters. Knights thought Subban was better, and Leafs gave up next to nothing to get him. He was the 3rd goalie picked in 2010 - other two have done zip in the NHL. At least this guy has a save percentage north of .900 in 86 NHL games. He is statistically far superior to McBackup. Also should note he played for one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL to boot. At the very least a better plan C than anything they have.

I think he's the long term back up plan. As you said McBackup has this year and another then goes to UFA. Pickard will be RFA and either they sign him or trade him. No big deal.

Pickard was acquired for organisational depth in net.
McBackup played decent last year.
He hasn't even played a game this year.

martin. long season. he can take a rest once in a while.

Bibeau 2 Starts 1 Loss, 1 win
McElhinney 14 Games played, 10 starts, 6 wins, 7 losses

Much more is expected of this team moving forward, there will be backup plans for backup plans. Can't afford to have to go to a guy like Sparks if Andersen goes down for any length of time.
