My earliest hockey memories are Salming, in his late Leafs career. Probably my earliest fave Leaf...there weren't many to choose from on some of those teams.

as luck would have it... I saw him play his first game at Maple Leaf Gardens... never have I seen a guy sacrifice body and effort for the team like that guy... the blocked shots with the old equipment were amazing to see...

as a first generation Canadian kid or european immigrants he was easy for me to idolize...

I can only imagine what he would do playing under the current rules.

That's awesome. Yeah the first NHL game I ever saw he was playing against the Blackhawks at MLG. They lost that night if I remember lol...I think that was the same season where he got stepped on by a skate and had a zillion stitches in his face. That guy is still ripped too, he looks like he could play lol.
