Knew a cousin who did an undergrad in Political Science and then did a masters in land use management with a focus on asset prioritization or safety or whatever you wanna call it. Finished the masters in 2 years and safe to say, he is now working in a government position as a project asset analyst or whatever you guys call it. Seems pretty good to me. Benefits, job security, and a good salary.

Needlesstosay, if I were you, do the masters. I've been hearing nothing but good things about doing a masters. Its only 2 years unlike a PH.D and it greatly increases your chances of employment and you get a bigger salary too.

The good thing about both defenders is that, IMO, they still have room to grow. They are still young, they both have fantastic contracts, and they are on a team where they are given opportunities to do so.

As for Klefbom, last season truly showed just how good he is. He is definitely a #1 defender in my point of view.

As for Larsson, respectively, I still see him as a #2 defender. He has that offensive ability (it ain't flashy, but rather "gets the job done") to be able to post 30 and possibly plateau at 40 if he is given PP time (our PP as of this season is 8.3% so far; something has got to click or McLellan better be making some changes and putting Larsson out there; he has been quite active offensively as of late) and more offensive zone starts. Even plateauing at 30 points given his profile and conditions is still great for a top pair defender. Is he worth Hall if that is the case, nope. Still unbelievable that Subban got traded away the same day we traded Hall (which was who a lot of people thought Hall should have fetched), but that is old news.

But giving up serious assets that we already kinda lack just to get another option that MAY improve our PP is a serious waste when the goal should be filling out the team with more skilled depth.

If they're looking for a different look on the PP, swap Klef out for Benning, Larsson or Sekera when he returns. Or maybe give Slept a shot in Letestu's spot. Maybe you put Caggiula or Khaira as the net front presence instead of Lucic. Don't go out giving up major assets to fx a problem that can often be rectified simply by a shift in strategy.

Nope not saying we need another. Klefbom does well. Sekera when back. Benning is ok but not great. Point is when it comes to pp time Larsson is way down the list. There is a reason for that.

One factor to consider is the amount of PK time Larsson is given. I get your point, but me thinks that if Larsson is given more minutes in one area, I'm certain he will have minutes taken away in another. That and there is no (frank)ing chance that Mclellan puts Benning on the PK, hell even putting Russell is a struggle as is.

So, unless Larsson achieves Pronger-like stamina, we are going to most likely see a defensively adept version of Larsson during most nights due to his priority with the team when it comes to defensive situations. Unless we acquire or develop another two way top 4 defender anytime soon, that looks to be the case. It all comes down to depth defensively, something that is making the Eberle trade look worse by the second.

Simply put, do you trust a PK unit more with Larsson on the ice or with Benning? I would go with the first option like 10/10 times and I'm pretty sure you would too.

Their defensive structure is a total mess. Their pk is fuking awful

But they’re also abit snake bitten on offence. Haven’t played poorly in that respect. Just need 1 greasy one to get some confidence back
