Loved it.

I didn't watch any it for years. Just over a year ago I decided to binge-watch the entire series over a two day period. I thought it was going to be funny. It wasn't. There were really funny moments but by the end I felt completely drained.

I think it would have been a completely different experience if I had to wait a week between episodes.

RIP

Our Prime Minister is going to speak on the issue.

I wonder if he would do the same for someone like... say Neil Young.

You know what I mean. Had some time off work. Wife and kids away. Got a great big bag of medicine and sat down to watch and didn't stop until it was over. Two days, three days, whatever.

As I said before, I wouldn't do that again with a series as intense as BB.

I think he would. The problem with JT isn't the easy swings at saying a few words of condolence and recognition but the larger issues.

Hope so.

It's just the whole Hip thing. Great Canadian band but I always saw them on the same level as Trooper. Huge nationally but not much traction internationally.

On one of the morning shows the announcer said that Gordo was one of the greatest musicians ever.

I'm just messing with you - yeah BB is pretty intense to do all in one session, I wouldnt have been able to pull that off. But waiting 8 months for the last 6 episodes was excruciating. I don't remember ever being that excited for a TV show in my life. There was a lot of buzz going into the final half season. You should watch Better Call Saul, its just as good, if not better, its less intense but has a similar tone.

He was a Canadian icon of sorts, so I can see all the hype at the moment.

Just wait until Don Cherry packs it in..

I'm not a music guy so I didn't even know who he was until he got sick. I'm sure I've heard their songs but didn't put them together. Cancer sucks!

I just noticed this morning how Vanek was floating back watching the Sens ring one off the post, that's how he got his breakaway

I'd say, "yes". Neil may not live in Canada anymore but he is still one of our greatest exports and arguably one of the most influential Canadians of all time.

They were the first to shun international fame and go all in on Canada. Trooper has 4 good songs...the Hip? At least 50. He was original and talented and one of the greatest in my eyes, but that doesn't mean one of the greatest period.

I don't think i've laughed that hard before, last person i saw wind up like that on a breakaway was Gretzky. It was actually kinda shocking, but then for him to pick the corner and the ting of the post - it was a thing of beauty. I'm now a Vanek fan, until he screws up...

I think he mentioned that he was totally gassed by the time he got close to the net. He blasted it because he didn't have the strength to get in close.

But it was an awesome goal. Boom.

I think it's an age and generational gap thing.

I think it's interesting that we've been discussing drama and over-reaction in Vancouver over our hockey team, but I think it's an epidemic in our society as a whole.

The magnification on any topic seems out of control these days. Over reaction everywhere you look/listen.

Ya not sure I can get there on that one. Internationally their music just wasn't that appealing and advanced enough to garner that notoriety. Don't get me wrong, I like the Hip but they really only had 4-5 'real good' albums which basically ended at Day for Night. After that it's a mish-mash of sporatically generated b-side tracks and really each album after Day for Night only generated a few standouts.

Fans in Canada loved the fact that Gord and the Hip wrote tunes about hockey, life, Ontario so forth and so on...but they were pretty overrated musically from a CDN standpoint alone. They didn't shun the international market...they just weren't quite good enough to get there...but it is what it is.

Not taking anything away from Gord and his massive passion and impact on the industry however. He will be missed sorely for sure.

And dude...Trooper had more than 4 good tunes lol

That was pure luck, I'd have rather seen Goldy on that lazy back-check breakaway
