Have you seen the post-game interviews? Pretty sure I saw a noose in his locker after the last game. Not really a knock on Mac, but I don't think he can lead this team. Leetch is my all time favorite Ranger, and he was a terrible Captain on a terrible team. Not saying this team is as bad as the record indicates, but something has to give.

Have you seen the post-game interviews? Pretty sure I saw a noose in his locker after the last game. Not really a knock on Mac, but I don't think he can lead this team. Leetch is my all time favorite Ranger, and he was a terrible Captain on a terrible team. Not saying this team is as bad as the record indicates, but something has to give.

I don't think he is truly captain material either but to strip someone of the team captaincy is a big deal, maybe as big as firing the Coach & it would be a hell of a crushing blow to Mac. Its not like there's a major other ringing candidate to be Captain. I mean its not like Leetch handing it over to MESS when he came back in 2000.

I still contend Adam Graves should have been named Captain in 97 after Mess bolted to Vancouver.

Agreed. If the leader is not going to be the best player then he needs to have the heart and attention of the players he is leading. McDonaugh is a solid player but he is not a leader in my eyes, not a knock, but its just not his thing.
Zucc would be my choice. The WHOLE team feeds off of him.

You could see the relief in Leetch's face and his shoulders lift when Mess came back.
You're right, no other option on this team right now, and I'm not pinning this on Mac. A start this bad is clearly affecting his play.
