I don't doubt it's a systems problem at all. It usually is when discussing PPs.

100 percent! If the puck is being tossed around quickly and there's an open shoot it doesn't have to be 105 mph to go in, and most aren't. That's my point.

You may not doubt it, but using Klef as an example isn't relevant because the Oilers utilize a system that works. It creates chances for him to shoot. Which results in secondary, rebound and tip in chances. As I said, the Isles can't even enter the zone, let alone create shooting lanes via passing.

It's not. Klef amassing more points was a result of a system that works. That moves the puck, creates shooting lanes and gets the goalie moving. The Isles have no such system.
- Isleshockeyman

Once again, my argument is not in the context of the Isles' particular situation. I believe you guys when you say it's more of a systems issue because I don't have evidence to counter that. The point I'm contesting is that a heavy shot from the point doesn't have value.

Piss off d!ckhead. Just because you & Cpt are slapping cocks, doesn't mean you can get pissy with or take it out on me.

The Isles PP is non existent. You could throw someone out there with a 200mph shot and it won't make a difference. They can't enter the zone, don't set up and even if they do, they don't move. A point shot is useless without a lane.

It is still relevant because they tried using virtually the same system earlier last year and the results weren't nearly as good. Once they added Klefbom and Letestu, the big point shot opened up lanes for the cross ice one timer (Letestu) and the high slot tip plays (Draisaitl) that weren't working earlier because Sekera wasn't a threat to get his shot through often.

Maybe I'm mis-attributing the success more to Klefbom, but I believe that his heavy shot opened a lot of doors for the system they had been employing to operate at a high success rate.

But again, my intent is not to argue Pulock:'s value in your situation. The problems are evidently deeper.

Come on IHM what are you drunk? Ryan Pulocks 105 mPH slapshot scored 5 pp goals last year in the AHL.
It will turn it around in a snap and Doug Weight doesn't know enough about hockey to see that.

Pulock only scored 5 goals with all the forward talent the Isles had in the AHL?

I'm not saying it doesn't have value. It does if you have a system that's capable of utilizing it. Doesn't matter how fast or heavy the shot is, if there's no lane, it's not getting past the dot. At that point you're in retrieval mode. Battling for the puck along the boards. You might get a lucky bounce here or there, but not often. My point is the Isles 'system' doesn't work. If you're not moving the puck, the defence &the goalie doesn't have to move much. If they're not moving, they don't get tired. It's way too easy for the PK to defend against the Isles PP right now.

Nope he played against AHLers and with AHLers. His shots great but it not a magic potion for our PP. Holy Phuck!

Boychucks got a bomb how many PP goals does he have ?

You may not be arguing that it doesn't have value, but that's what I understood the other fellow's point to be. If I've mistaken his point, then I apologize for misunderstanding.

I'm waiting for Thursday's game but I've pretty much lost faith in Weight. I have no clue how he can see the PP is 0-20 and not change it. Not do something different or try different personnel out there. Want to use 4 forwards? Fine. Just change it up. Design plays where the puck actually moves from one side to the other.

I do not remember Cappy and Weight using Boychuk a ton on the PP. So why did Florida have such trouble with the Isles PP when Pulock was on the ice that series? Doug Weight was running the PP during that series. I just want to see Pulock get one game and get PP time and if he is lousy he can go sit again.

No apologies, bone. I know you're not in here trolling. His point is basically the same as mine. The PP system doesn't work because of the system itself. Throwing a big shot in there isn't going to make a difference. Not when there's no movement to create shooting lanes.

I never said it doesn't have value. My point was it isn't going to fix this PP because he has a 105 mph slapshot,
After Cpt threw his spin on it then it wrthless stupidest post ever written blah blah blah.

I bet you on skates Cpts slap shot doesnt go 50 mph.

Come on Ses, you're better then that. Don't go the route of bd and use one tiny piece of a puzzle and make it the whole thing. You know as well as I that this system isn't working. No one person on the ice is going to fix that. The system needs to be scrapped and a new one installed. They'll get a goal here or there but they'll be bottom 5 if they don't revamp it.

Only 1 PP goal was created by Pulock in that series and it was a 5 on 3. Also, if people remember correctly, Florida also was a bottom 5 PK unit at the time. And before anyone asks, yes I'm feeling better.

I just get very mean and angry during sports. I'm worse during football games. It's therapeutic to type though rather than get arrested.

I'm not counting on the system being fixed are you? I'm not counting on a trade to help things either. I have to hope for Pulock to be able to help even a little. Pulock is the quickest and easiest thing to try at this point. I do not see Pulock wrecking a great team here. I'm just not seeing a big downside.
