Secondary scoring they've got some of. It's just primary scoring, PP scoring, defense, break outs & face offs that need to be worked on.

Face offs aren't important

Sitting Pulock the first two games is one thing, but now it’s getting ridiculous. It’s no different than what Cappy was doing.
- ses111

So basically Pulocks gonna bring the puck up the ice, enter the zone cleanly, set up, make crisp fast passes, and then shoot the puck and our PP is going to be a successful.

The fact is the 100+ mph shot is useless unless he has a clear shooting lane.

It's not 1 player that makes the PP work, far from it.

I think you might see him against The Rangers. We should go 5 for on thevPP then.

I just do not understand the pushback at trying Pulock? What else has worked for the PP? I’m open to suggestions if someone has better options.

Again Ses, there is more wrong with the PP then a 100 plus mph shot missing. The best PPs in the league are producing because of clean entries, crisp and fast puck movements. The shot doesn't have to be a slapshot from the point to go in if it is executed properly. More than not the shots are one timers from the dots in or back door plays
Again you need a clean entry, you need puck movement to open a shooting lane before the shot even comes into play.

If the Isles can figure it out before the world ends and without Pulock then fine. It been a long time struggle and is only getting worse. I still think a big shot like Pulock is worth a shot and seems quicker than Doug and the staff figuring it out.

Look I like Pulock, but again honestly if the PP is clicking the shot that goes in doesn't have to be a 100 + mph shot.
If the shot is 80 MPH or 105 Mph if the lane isn't there is gonna get blocked.
Just my opinion of course and you know I'm always wrong!

It's wrong to not give the kid ice time. If he wasn't going to play on the Isles then he should have started the season in Bridgeport. He needs ice time to develop.

And yet the 105mph shot maybe creates more rebounds and defensive breakdowns allowing for those 80mph shots to be taken from more favourable spots.

Changing the system and requiring more fluidity would likely help, too. JT, Eberle and Ho Sang are all slick players with creative minds and the hands to keep up. More motion while a man up would help.

It's about how the Isles continue to not develop young players properly. It's beyond just Pulock. Isles fans see what is happening to Pulock and it brings back painful reminders.

Ok fine. Take away the PP needing to be fixed you still say let this kid continue to sit? He hasn't played in 6 straight games you don't see something wrong with that? I wasn't one of the posters losing there minds iver this but at this point this is bordering on absurdity without even factoring in the abortion of a PP. Also, you trying to reason how Pulock couldn't potentially help our pp is one of the more funny things I've seen on here in a while. Yeah he may not who the (frank) really knows? That's the problem right there nobody really knows? Now he'll probably throw the kid out there against a hungry rival on their home ice because thst makes exactly zero sense.

Quick fluid passes are key, with a quick one time shot.

The days of the boomer off the point hoping it gets through are old school. Low to high passing with movement and typically opening a cross ice seem is today's strategy for the most part.

Pulock scored 5 PP goals in 55 AHL games last year.

Soooo let's leave Josh Bailey on the point and keep getting thise fluid passes working great. Also, let's just send Pulock to bridgeport and hope he clears waivers. The NHL has changed no use for an 105 mph shot from the point.

I remember a couple people on here saying his contract status would have zero effect on his play or the teams .

This team will start really imploding soon if they don't turn this around soon.

I don't know what the reasons are. I just know we're not seeing the JT we expect.

The season is very young, they could get things going. It wouldn't shock me at all if they went on a 10 game losing streak either.

Hey, Pulock scored 5 PP goals in the AHL . Thats not lighting it up.
Successful PPs in the league are not scoring from shots on the point sorry.
Most of the pp goals are scored from the dots in typically back door or cross ice one timers when the goalie is moving. The shot means nothing unless it gets through.
As far as Pulock not playing he obviously hasn't earned the coachs confidence to get in. Let's not kid our selves that we know better than Weight and his staff on who's ready and who's not.
The guy was an absolute abortion in pre season in his own zone and obviously they feel his shatty play in the defensive zone 5v5 isn't worth his slapshot on the PP.

No what's the funniest thing on here is when HB NHL wanna be coaches think 1 player is going to make a difference on the PP. if OV didn't have Backstrom, Yoshie Kunetsov passing the puck around getting him the clear 1 time opportunities he's not going to score as much. Same goes for Stamkos etc.
Also a funny thing abou PP written on here constantly is the whole 4 forwards on the PP thing. It absolute BS. Most teams use 4 forwards now VS 3 f 2d because puck movement zone entries and creativity are what makes most successful PPs in the league. You score in the NHL on the PP when you make the goalie move from side to side.
