Are you doing copious amounts of cocaine tonight? You just called for a hb hockey scrimmage to prove a point........... wow - Upstate_isles
What else could he resort to? It was his only choice. |

Only 1 PP goal was created by Pulock in that series and it was a 5 on 3. Also, if people remember correctly, Florida also was a bottom 5 PK unit at the time. And before anyone asks, yes I'm feeling better. - bgainesDM

Come on IHM what are you drunk? Ryan Pulocks 105 mPH slapshot scored 5 pp goals last year in the AHL.
It will turn it around in a snap and Doug Weight doesn't know enough about hockey to see that. - nyisles7
No one is saying Ryan Pulock is going to save the power play. They ARE saying get the kid out there to see what he has and who knows it could help. You do realize our PP is 0 for 20 and -3 right? Yes Weight has my unbridled faith with his power play |

It would be fun to play a game I'll bet we have guys that can barely skate up to guys that played college level or so. Is ihm a goalie? I'll bet he's a butterfly keeper I mean he's on his knees a lot in real life so would make sense to be in his comfort zone |

Capuano was a real NHL coach why was it ok for you to question his moves and non moves? What's the difference at this point? If I said to you, "We'll have to wait and see what Capuano does because he's a real NHL coach." Or "Why don't you ask Capuano." Would that mean I "biotch slapped" you? Keep acting like a three year old. |

Come on Ses, you're better then that. Don't go the route of bd and use one tiny piece of a puzzle and make it the whole thing. You know as well as I that this system isn't working. No one person on the ice is going to fix that. The system needs to be scrapped and a new one installed. They'll get a goal here or there but they'll be bottom 5 if they don't revamp it. - Isleshockeyman
I don't disagree with this at all. The system is a (frank)ing mess. Actually at this point it doesn't even look like a system it looks a free for all. No where in any of my posts did I say Pulock should be bought in to save our PP. I DID say we have a terrible PP, some defenseman not playing so great, and a D prospect sitting in the seats for 6 straight games. Is that good prospect development again for a club that seems completely inept at developing anyone? Whats the end game here? |

The end game is pacifying Snow's ego. Nobody seems to this. This organization is not run by garth snow. It's run by his ego. This team will be poop as long as he's running it. And he'll be running it as long as these gutless pukes own it. Sadly. |

the fact that pulock has a 105 mph slap shot should open more space for the player along the boards. defending team will have to be closer to pulock thus opening up space. get him in coach and let him fire away. he had plenty of pts last yr in the ahl and don't see why it wont translate into the nhl with his shot that he possesses. it certainly cant hurt. |

Yeah I get that. Been beating that drum for years and it's at this point sad to watch. Weight is just another product of Snow's ego. My point was what to do with Pulock and his suddenly worthless 105 mph slap shot? I'm not even one of the people that was flipping out about him not playing but it's kind of ridiculous at this point. 6 straight games sitting. Very capuanoish no? If Weight finally throws him in against the Rangers a team who is starving and desperate on home ice that'll seal it for me. |

I am. It is the same piss poor prospect management we've seen for years. He needs to play. If they didn't have confidence in him then he should be in Bridgeport. |

I am as well. What was the reason for Beau sitting for two games? The Sharks and Kings are bigger. |

0-20 on the PP and 2-3 record. Many fans talk about a lousy system and yet we cannot question Doug's decisions and it's crazy to give a shot to a 23 year old dman with a 105 mph shot? - ses111
105mph slapshot or not, Pulock alone isn't going to fix the PP. Why he's not playing, I don't know. The reason his shot isn't going to help the PP is BECAUSE of the system. They don't move the puck. They barely move themselves. They don't create shooting lanes. He can't shoot if A) he doesn't have a lane & B) if he doesn't have time & space to wind up for that shot.
I said before the season that I'd give this new staff 2 weeks into the season. Thursday will be 2 weeks. If they look the same as the other games, I'll open fire on Weight & Snow. |

Listen someone is going to have sit each night as the Islanders have to many forwards right now. I believe we will see certain guys rotating. Beau wasnt really lighting it on fire so he is sitting. I rather JHS in there then him at this point.
As for Pulock/ Listen will he help maybe. He is not the whole power play and regardless of his shot at this point it wont make a huge difference. We need different line combos and a different approach to the power play plain and simple. Problem with Pulock is that he had a bad preseason and he is not good on the defensive side. so if you are willing to deal with that then I say yea lets put him in. I understand where Dougie is coming from and rather have the defense play defense block shots move guys off the puck I dont think you will get that from Pulock. |

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned Pulock alone can fix the PP? We all know the Isles take years to even try fixing things. It makes zero sense to have Pulock sitting for 6 games same as it makes no sense sitting Beau the last two games. Doug and his staff had all of pre-season to come up with the right system. One point or not, Doug did not get the team into the playoffs last year and he has a ton to prove. |
