We had bad smoke a lot of the summer here too, first from the fires in Canada and then later fires in WA and OR, but those pictures from Santa Rosa incinerated were just awful.

Haha I do it too, or worse, I'll fall asleep mid-gaming and let it go throughout the night. For NHL18, I had a 10 hour demo trial, I played roughly an hour and the rest I slept through.

That's quite an endorsement.

When North Korea detonates an EMP to destroy our power grid, this will be the toughest adjustment for me to make.

I have to admit I seem to be wrong of Couturier and he is proving me so wrong. I hope he continues to wow me, lol. Hagg is pretty special out there, he like a young Alzner back there preventing scoring chances and getting it done. Do not expect much point production but with Gost, Provorov and Sanheim that is more than enough. Playing Voracek or Weal on the point on the pp units is exciting stuff. Hopefully Elliot can get in one of his grooves and that has not happened yet, he is winning but can be much better. Love the looks of his team but still not impressed with the coach but hope he proves me wrong. Go flyers go

So with Martel playing so well and the sound of it Lindblom struggling offensively, is Martel ahead of him for a possible injury call up, or does Read automatically get the call?
- Buzzo

I think it always depends on who is injured but Read is most likely. Martel could always get rewarded for his strong start if he keeps it up.

I don't think Lindblom get's called up for any short stints. When they call him up it's with the intention of keeping him up for good or at least an extended period of time.

Martel is still a very good prospect and is a Jordy Weal clone. If he can keep improving his overall game he has a shot one day despite his size. Like his jam.

I agree that Hagg should stay with Gost, two dead opposites that are getting it done together. Hagg is so good in his own end and right now him and Provorov are the two top defenders in their own zone. Just watch Hagg and he is always in the right spot and seems so calm, we do not need him to score but he is so valuable.

So...much ado about nothing then?
- Scoob

No, not really. They just know how to deal with storms here and Key West was one of the few Keys that was on the "good" side of the eye. From Boca Chica all the way up to Islamorade, the devastation was enormous.

Great news, E. Naples is about back to normal. Still clearing out trees and brush. I assume your friend is doing well after riding it out. Hope you enjoy your time in paradise.

I was basically powering through Fallout (and the first 2 DLCs) by the end for the sake of completion. Love Bethesda games and FO, but it felt like there was a big world with too much filler compared to Fallout 3, or even New Vegas. Wish it was a little tighter. The main story too petered off mid-way through compared to 3. But I played the final DLC Nuka-World last, and it was (frank)ing awesome. Great finish to the game.

I have played all 3 games. I enjoyed the lore and setting and characters and even combat system of DA:I, but man that game was epically empty and repetitive, and I basically 100%'d it, which was part of the problem. It became a total slog. As much as I enjoyed the former stuff, I don't think I'll play the next one. Too much of a time investment without the payoff.

I love the Witcher. I probably prefer exploration/traversing the world/town and city design in the Elder Scrolls, but my god, the level of sophistication and maturity and depth to the characters and quests and dialogue.....even every little side quest and character feels unique, and that is remarkable. It can be overwhelming though, so I can get why it can be difficult to get into. I played Witcher 2 first though.

Maybe Ill try witcher again, I played skyrim when I was layed up with a back injury and sunk over a thousand hours total. Was disappointed by the new elder scrolls online.

I've seen pictures from Marathon that looked pretty bad. As long as Key West Fisheries (right near the 7 mile bridge) is still slinging sandwiches when I visit, I'll be happy.

Related: Boca Chica is just fun to say.

Like I said, I played Witcher 2 (not necessary at all beyond a couple plot points tbh....Witcher 3 shifts pretty far from that game and back to the book roots), but I also spent some time reading whatever I could find (forum summaries, wiki pages galore, not just brief article recaps) summarizing the world, lore, characters, and plot beforehand because the games are sequels to the books.....they're supposedly making a Netflix show based on the books fyi.

I'm a bit anal retentive with that stuff, but if you're going to sink a large amount of time into something, especially so character/story driven, I find reading up on it and not going in cold makes a world of difference in not being in "WTF" mode.

i have had some issues recently. nhl network disappeared. i rebooted and it worked. then a couple of weeks later it went out again and then i noticed center ice was out also. i was getting an error code of 721 on all of them.

i have directv...they were able to repair it via phone after a lengthy call. i think they simply turned it off and wouldn't admit it.

never seen the "updating..." code.

Marathon, Big Pine and Sugarloaf were just destroyed as were most of the mid Keys. Still a lot of work going on up there.

One thing about having all these young D filter in is that it will make them eligible for the expansion draft. If the flyers held a few back for a couple years would that keep them safe from having them plucked away by the expansion team?
If that's the case then I am all for slowing their entry into the NHL. Having a stacked team during an expansion can hurt.
Do you think hexy is planning ahead with this?

Didn't kill Nashville on D. I'm sure something can be "worked out."

Nashville didn't have the offer site threats we are bringing up. What can you protect? 4 forwards and 4 defenseman and a goalie if you choose the 4 defenseman option?
So Jake and room are here bc of NTC. So konecny and weal could be two others. That leaves a lot of good players available.
My question is do you think hexy is planning ahead for this?
And who do we keep?

I'll wait until they expand. Too many balls to juggle.

Nashville lost James Neal. If it's two more seasons out you might lose Simmonds or Voracek. At that point they may welcome the cap relief.

If they lost Morin next year I don't think they'd care. Doesn't seem like he fits in their plans. Too big and slow for this team they might be thinking.
