This is what I mean... (took their foot off the gas?) look you won the game but I think it had more to do with being dominated than taking their foot off the gas.how about you didn’t win the game the rangers lost it ?
- Bobd62

No the devils won the game they battled back from a terrible first period to score 3 goals of course the Rangers our shot the devils in the 3rd they were down by two last time I checked the goalie is part of the team so my team beat you’re team

If you go 9-5 to finish the first 20 games of the season, you are still a .500 team. Your window is closed.

Trying to drown us in your own tears is an abstract approach.

I understand they have tissues on the Rangers thread.

It’s the 2nd week of the season, your team is already 5 points out of a playoff spot, only Arizona and Buffalo have been outscored by a wider margin and the Rags would have to jump over three teams in the toughest division in hockey to sniff the playoffs.

I mean you do your thing, but when Devils seasons ended in October we would talk about draft picks, not get delusional about how different things will look in 20 games.

I understand the Rangers frustration. They are like the 12-13 or 13-14 Devils. Overpaid vets, a frustrating coach, and a high end but aging goalie. This is "it" for the foreseeable future for them, and here they are 1-5. If it gets worse or stays bad and the window closes further, if they don't start pulling rabbits out of some hats soon, forget Yankee's stadium, extra netting on the NYC bridges is recommended.

With the way the lottery is set up now, as evidenced by last year, any team that misses has a great shot at top 3 picks. Which is why I'd want the Rangers to still make the playoffs, barely, but get knocked out in the first round

Remember those past few years? Horror show of losing key players - Parise, Kovy - Marty aging and Schneider splitting time. Players like Ryder, Brunner, Tootoo. Bad losses. Contracts like Clowe and Cammalleri. Late leads blown. Coach punishing young players. This is what the Rangers are in for over the next few years without a miracle. Destination pooptsville. 2 years from a blow up, and then the start of a rebuild. Years of pain ahead. Maybe I am wrong but I don't think so.

Also - I know Shattenkirk got a goal or at least point last night the complaints about his defense on the Rangers thread makes me think we didn't make out so bad not to get him. If his offense dries up, being a bad defender he could be a bad deal.

-It's only a 4 year deal

-He leads the team in scoring. He's not the problem.
