I mean at least for this season so far that Stepan trade has blown up in their face
- TPC

I think they had targeted another center that didn't pan out so they settled on Desh.

Maybe AV will set proper lines now that Fast is back.
Almost 39% on faceoffs last year. Desh was 54%.

- Fenrir

Whos the 4th center though. Miller? Don't think AV wants him there. He would rather carry 7 defenseman

Kreider is the most likely candidate or B Smith on the D, someone needs to throw down & shake things up.
- B2B76

No disrespect to TPC but the only thing I have seen Krieder hit hard so far, is the boards. Buch is actually the physical guy on that line so far.

Isn't Cracknell supposed to be that guy? He's been invisible.

How long have we waited for Kreider to become that power forward he shows glimpses of?

Not known as a fighter but more of a bottom 6 forward who can grind & play the forecheck game. Haven't seen anything from him so far

Matt is gonna have a coronary here because I'm gonna call him out now too. He can almost be called a veteran at this point he's been on the team so long. He has to step up & be heard from. No more giving him the benefit of the doubt, seriously the guy has unbelievable tools & talent, he has to get his head out his ass & take it to the opponent.

Exactly, time is now. If he just has another "ho hum" year its time to pull the plug on him & trade him in a package.

Dude we all love Kreids, but we hate when he is disengaged, cause we all know he has the talent to be a great power forward.

Brian put it good.

Call it like I see it. Unlike the refs in the Jets/Pats game today.

I haven't been really following football at all, but just happened to turn it on at the play. Thats was one of the worst calls, and the fact it went to replay.

The fact that it was originally called a TD & then the officials reversed it & said it was a fumble & touchback, Pats ball on the 20 I really was speechless. Even Dan Fouts who's usually very vanilla said that was one of the worst calls he ever saw & made no sense. "Paralysis by analysis" he said which was spot on. WTF were they looking at?!

Carey?
- Fenrir

Carey, Deshairnais and Cracknell are useless to this roster. Carey is worse version of Fast, Deshairnais can't do anything beside win a faceoff and Cracknell was on waivers for a reason. Idk how those 3 are on the roster over Letteri, Nieves and Chytil.

I would call them up tom & let them all play vs Pittsburgh Tuesday, do something for a spark.

how nice ... its gm 6 Jan has been out all week and instead of diagnosing the major holes in the lineup and such..... he focuses on the lynch mob mentality brewing... well its always brewing ...churning..fishing for barbs to hook the victim with...Now its A V's turn in the barrel
i have never seen a NYR coach EVERYONE likes or wants...
I still dont see a complete game effort for 60 min.
last gm the after Nashs goal we laid down for the rest of the period and alot of the 3rd... till down 3-1
gm before fri. HANK gives up a deflect goal of Z bad 's leg.. we fell apart
3rd period was a blitz krieg for Columbus coming in waves ...
Our goalies keep gettin outplayed ,,how bout a stand on your head nite ..Eh !!!!
Gorts & SLats have sat on there thumbs not filling the depth with centers
SHyte ..Johansssen from Wash for 2 #2 picks ..W T F why didnt we get him?
we could have used almost anyone.... Derharnais ? already showing signs ...
Not sold on line up & i dont think team is either ..
D'A ... take his time ... send down & diffuse the situation
D is all the same puffs .. not real tough & lettin them fly sown middle
A Panarin ? walk thru the roses ? terrible goal we gave up after assault after assualt was hittin us ...
A V cant fix a flat lineup not confident and waitn to get beat right now ...
A V should get 20 gm with out reproach not 6 of which half look liked Pre season games ...alot of mistake s on ice is AV making the T O's or boo boo's to let guys wide open ? give the man a chance to breath and fix this..
do we want a good season with P O implications
or do we want to throw out the coach & re build on the fly..no way
team needs players up the middle not new coaches ...L G R

That's actually part of the job description.

Also, there is no such thing as a rebuild on the fly. The moment Gorton said that, we should have known this roster wasn't ready to compete for a playoff spot. Either rebuild or try to win now. None of this half ass garbage.

THe NFL's definition of a catch has become so distorted and anal its no longer
actaul copmared to what we see as a "catch "
seems falling down changes all the values of a catch ..
I E a few wks ago...NYG catches T D in end zone takes mulitple steps ..trips and fall on the out of bounds and when he hits ground ..ball comes flyin out ...

they took the T D away after so many steps and losing ball control when hittin the ground.... I say you are drunk stupid or both to super anaylize a play that if he stayed on feet its a catch this after3-4 steps with possession cleanly..

N F L has ruined that aspect of the game ..just like the Jets getting screwed
how ironically the Pats ,the most manipulative operation in the lg.....

My initial shock hours later now just has me pissed beyond belief with that call. Common sense says there is NO WAY that is a fumble, its just totally officials making too much of what is a common sense play & especially the fact that it was initially a TD call HOW IN THE BLOODY HELL does that get overturned & then the fact that not only its not a TD but its a fumble out of the end zone & is Pats ball on the 20. Just mind boggling. And totally overlooks the fact that the Jets again played their hearts out & were in a game & had a shot at winning a game nobody gave them a chance to. Frustrating.

I mean things could be worse. We could have already traded away our first round pick
- TPC

Or things could be even that much greater worse, if they did so for each of the next 3 Drafts.

That's the thing, yes it's early but these points now can haunt us come April. Remember the Isles last yr lost out by a point. It happens, these points are as critical now as they are later in the season.
- B2B76

These lost points & potential points still available from the start the season through October 31st, are much more critical than some realize, in that they would have then played 10 of their first 13 games at home. Thus far, they failed to take advantage of that in going only 1-3-0 at MSG, along with their 0-2-0 road record through their first 6 games, for a 1-5-0 start overall, for their worst start since the 1980/81 season.

Maybe its me but I blame Gorton as much as AV. AV can only play the players he is given, he can't make them all have talent that can finish
- TPC

You can blame Gorton in part here, despite him inheriting a huge cap mess, and a team that had seen its best seasons gone by, unless ALL of the proper & needed changes could be made somehow otherwise. But you can't blame him for ALL, nor as much as A.V., who demanded for certain players only, some of which Gorton was able to acquire, and some not, including the unknown. That's A.V.'s job in key to get the best out of them.
