Truthfully I have a hard time grasping how people can afford to live in the city let alone going to games.

It blows my mind at times seeing friends of ours living in these huge houses all these fancy toys and furnishings doing expensive trips ect. I know they don't make any more money than us(not my business of course) but they must have some huge debt.

Living in Vancouver I have a better feel of why people don't go to games.

Price :cost of going to a game for two usually will run you 300.00

Product: The team is horrible

Access: Getting to the game and home adds two extra hours. Along with that crowded transportation. No parking along most Sky Train routes. Long walks from bus routes.

Construction : This alone has kept many people out of the downtown core.

Comforts of Home: Hi Def tv's ,replays, cheap booze , comfortable seating and easy washroom access.


This is why attending sports venues is falling off. In Edmonton you can park your car at malls and they have multiple express buses to drive you to the venue . Ample free parking. Vancouver does not

Basically triple it for me. Flights $400 hotel $200 and food/booze $200. Give or take but like Lefty said its more about a fun road trip with the boys. The games is our excuse and bonus.
