I know no one wants to hear this but their possession stats Zone entries and shots on net are way better than last year, it will translate to goals. Now as for the defensive end hopefully that's something they are still working on, I also thought the power play had a little bit better Puck movement and more chances the last few games but they really need to get that going. - Upstate_isles
They are Upstate but don't try to convince this crew!
That said we need results, we need wins and it isn't happening.
I have no problem with the 6 dman dressed.
deHaan has been bad but he was maybe the best or most consistent dman last year and Doug is obviously giving him a chance to find his game instead of giving defensive Swiss cheese Pulock a chance. A 105 mph Slapshot a NHL defenseman does not make. That said he may get his chance soon.
Honestly we need a little more discipline to tighten up our team defense to not make mistakes that wind up in the back of our net. It's a culture and discipline that this team needs to grasp on to and quickly or else even with the improved possession stats these simple mistakes can reverse them.

if weight is willing to let ho-sang barzal and beauvillier learn on the fly and make mistakes.. why won't he do the same with pulock?? we don't even know what he is.. I don't think sheltered third pairing minutes for three or four games is the worst thing in the world when your PP is costing you points |

But what if he gets the power-play points but gives up more on his defensive lapses? There has to be a reason why he can't crack the lineup they must see something that we don't know about |

Don't try to tell this crew what? That they're working on their defense? That the blah, blah, blah stats say they're better than last year? Listen, I've pointed out 2 or 3 own-zone turn overs. I've also pointed out a few positives. The PP , the 1st one, was good. They were moving, they were cycling, they were creating chances and getting shots. I don't really care, at this point, which defenseman this coaching staff is sitting. They see things we don't. However, we apparently are seeing things they don't. Like the PP sucks. Are there adjustments made? No, not yet. This coaching staff has a few more days. If things haven't turned around, then I'll completely open fire on them. Until then, I'll reserve judgement and see what they do. |

Don't get me wrong they need results and not to be buried 15 game in.....again. however the signs are there that they can win and be a good team this year. Personally I can't take another sub par year and watch 50 games knowing it's not going to happen |

Of course. At this point we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. At least for a few more games. But, the way the PP is going, Pulock's shot won't make difference. Nobody is moving. Watch the Caps PP. They move the puck all over the ice. Everybody knows where Ovi is going to set up, but yet, they get it to him and he scores. |

Ass - Upstate_isles
Why am I an ass? Because I'm willing to give them until next week to turn it around or make changes. I said before the season, when a lot of people on here were totally balls in on this coaching staff, that I'd wait a couple weeks into the season before passing judgement on them. I'm still holding myself to that. |

We have no idea what Pulock is doing in practice. There has to be a reason he can't crack the lineup. It's all fine, well and good to say "he's got a 100 mph shot", but if he's not performing in practice, then he'd be a liability during a game. |

I don't know whose PP looks worse, the Isles or Ducks. The Ducks move less than the Isles. 0 for 16 |

Holy crap! Wagner, from the Ducks, just threw one of the best hip checks I've seen since Potvin. Unfortunately it was against hours own player, Grant. Helluva check though. |
