Today @ 12:50 PM ET
this seems like a no-brainer offer sheet situation.
lots of teams in the atlantic could do it.
guess they're to afraid of rocking the boat.
That's exactly it. Holmgren admitted to being shut out by the other GMs around the league and found it difficult to get trades done later on. |

A couple of things here.
-Holland's offer is 1yr @ 1.25 or 2yrs @ 1.9mil.
-Cap Hit was 628k on his old contract, so 1.9mil would be a raise of 3x.
-Cap Space is very limited for the team.
-The game is more than just getting 18g in 13mins of ice.
-Most Wings fans want him back, so do the Wings but there is simply no space to overpay for his shortcomings on 200 feet of ice (be it Holland's other bad contracts or not).
It likely wont end with him back in DET which is too bad, but in the meantime Frk stepped up big time so that is not helping AA's chances. |

Yes Detroit management look to still have the upper hand here. Question is what do other GM's think of AA? Unless socks are knocked off there's zero option for AA to play NHL. How long before he goes to ufa if he plays OS? |

You didn't even get the real fake number.
2x1.9.
Or 3.8 million dollars. - ezekial
The article I read way back said what I mentioned earlier but it could have been a typo on their part.
Either way AA needs to go elsewhere. Any time a player stays with their franchise after contract issues, it never goes over well after that. |

Did they get rid of the "playing in a foreign league after the start of the NHL season and have to go through waivers when signing an NHL contract"?
I thought they did, but I can't remember for sure. |

And there are still rumors surrounding Trouba.
Detroit (frank)ed themselves on this one. Gave way too much money to their defense and now don't have even a little bit to spend on AA. They literally have no money. How can they possibly afford to sign him? What are they going to do? Trade Mike Green and keep half his salary?

If someone would just offer sheet him the Pens could get Sheahan for basically nothing. Someone PLEASE offer sheet the guy. If he doesn't work out with Sheary and Rust he can always drop to 4th line for Pens. |

If AA signs the contract based on comparable players he will be accommodated as such. Not before.
AA isn't playing because he doesn't want to, not because we can't afford him. |

That has nothing to do with AA. They will be able to make room for him. |
