I think being in the met changes a lot of things. You can get 1st seed or lower. Even 8th seed as long as you make the playoffs. If you are in the met you will have a tough route to the cup.

Rutherford seems to want to wait on the 3c. It will get done. He seems enamored with banking cap space. If we wait half a year it's actually a lot more. Should be double our current space which I believe turns into 6+.

I really have no opinion on reeves. I consider it a bad move because we had a value pick late first and 20 picks later we took a 4th rounder. So it feels like we gave up an actual 1st instead of just trading down. If there was no one there late first and we got value late 2nd I'd consider it a good move. We wanted an enforcer and he's the best at it.

Is our defense really that weak? Letang-dumo, Schultz - maatta/cole, Maatta/cole, hunwick seems quite good....top 10. Not elite but a good unit.

Niemi seems like a failure. Mid year it will be jarry or acquisition.

IMO we might struggle a bit for now, but will make the playoffs. Compared to prior years the pieces are in place to fix the problems easily. We have some young guys to fill second tier roles like third line. Banking cap to make finding a good 3c easier.

If we need to fix the fourth line and have cap space you can pick up depth at the tdl on the cheap if your cap is good.

Elite top 6 + top 10 defense + proven g1

Cap space will take care of 3c and more when we need it to.

This is not two years ago when we needed a lot of luck to put things together. We pulled off Daley and hagelin trades. Got very lucky with health. And somehow turned 5-6 unheralded prospects into solid depth.

JR would look like an idiot after making his decision so public. They’re probably gonna give him every opportunity to prove himself. Unfortunately.

MOre embarrassing playing him 3 a night in my opinion than scratching him.

In saying that why isn't there even fourth line getting more minutes? If they aren't capable put players that are in. Are there others that can & will play 8 minutes?

Sorry I must be missing something. How does waiting half a year increase our cap space?

We don't have Cole at the moment. So 5 NHL Dmen. Is that top 10?

Only the NHL can completely butcher it's rules like this.

Kuhnackel has become a defensive stud on the PK... he's always in the right position and wreaks havoc on the zone entry... he doesn't get much credit.

So we've scored 4 goals, does everyone think 4 goals should be enough to win any game??

Even when sheary isn't glaringly awful he bugs me. We have enough young skill with better size coming up very soon. Gotta be some.value in trading this guy.

I have issues with his game but there is still a lot to like. That one timer he made is not even close to being easy. Even at this level. He’s had a good game tonight.

There is no way in hell that tap by Reaves will be called in the spring. The standard will be completely different in a couple of months. Everybody knows it.

The NFL has gotten into problems in recent years because the league has mangled what constitutes a catch.

Both leagues suck, but the NHL has patented inconsistent reffing.....they'll always be the kings in that area.

Me admitting he isn't glaringly awful is the best I can do. But u have to trade value to get value. He is by far our most expendable asset atm. With sprong coming and jake and rust being of greater importance to the team, a piece like sheary could be useful in trade. Furthermore, any team that may overpay based on his stats won't have a sid there to continue to prop up his stats.

The nhl is a fast league that doesn't benefit from a lot of replay regarding infractions. Some human error should and has to be expected. The NFL like you said struggles with the concept of a catch....the most important aspect of the entire game. Throw in the weird suspensions of Brady and awful off the field issues and you really have to wonder about them.
