From the rumors, det is offering $1.9M, AA wants $3M. An offer sheet will cost you only a 2nd. My quick and dirty wings cap analysis:

Giving him the middlish of $2.4M, makes it tough for the wings. Not too much of an overpayment.

Giving him $2.8M makes it really tough for the wings. An overpayment.

Giving him $3.0M pretty much (frank)s the wings and gets you the player imo. A good sized overpayment.

Honestly he has not looked good at all. To be fair, neither has OEL. In fact, OEL has been our worst defensemen in our own zone, and Hammer isn't far behind.

Hoping/assuming it's just adjusting to the new coach and system.
