4 games into the season it's too early for me to answer that

If I had to answer right this second I would be leaning towards someone not named Lehner

Eh, yes and no

He wasn't good but neither was the rest of the team outside of Kane.

The Sabres didn't do themselves any favors this pre-season, they didn't play together enough under the new system. There's still A-LOT of kinks to work out and Housley needs to tweak his system a bit and realize he doesn't have Nashville's blue line anymore.

I think a big portion of the issue is that the D still isn't getting any support from the forwards. In order to play the style game Housley wants, the forwards need to pay attention to where our D are because if they're supposed to pinch in and join in on the offensive side, you need the forwards to go back and cover for those defensemen and that is certainly not happening right now.
