If they were there that long, they didn't get a whole lot of anything done in the zone.

Idk why you're that worried about the Wild - two years ago they were regular season champs against the Hawks but the Hawks owned them last season and in every game that actually counted aka the playoffs. It was the snooziest 1st period ever and that's saying something since the Hawks-Wild games tend to be like Nyquil. Watch this be a one goal game off a meh shot.

Get mad at that powerplay if you need to be annoyed. Deployment of forwards is another thing that is vexing though lol.

Actually i just start laughing when they're on the power play

Took half the game to get some real pressure but it was a good flurry.

Would be great is someone could get one of those big rebounds, but the Wild have been protecting the front well.

See, they responded to a snooze 1st with some great pressure and good moves - close to or above 70% across all shot metrics including attempts and scoring chances (high too). Now they need to capitalize on something.

Hawks were dominant for the final 5-10 mins of the 2nd period....only for the Wild to get the go ahead goal with 30 seconds left.

Very deflating.

Hawks should have taken control of this game, Wild are down a couple key forwards. Now MIN has all the momentum and its gonna be tough to get 1 pt let alone a win.

Still have 20 minutes to go and I think the Hawks are gonna come out with a good push.

They were dominant for more than half the period - it typically takes more than 10 minutes to have almost 30 shot attempts.

I really started noticing their level of play hit another gear when Kane had that long shift with Toews and Saad after I believe he was out there initially with the 4th line. Whenever that was, up until the Wild goal, is what seemed dominant to me. Everything before was snooze fest with both teams about even.

Was not much organization on the last power play, but it seems like the Hawks still favor a 2-1-2 formation when the rest of the league has moved to a 1-3-1.

I'd agree it definitely went to another level then (you can see the spike in the graph below) but they had a really good period overall.

We'll see how the Hawks fair in the third...Crawford should have had that one...for sure but total breakdown in front of him. Cardinal sin give up a goal with a minute left in the period. Hope the Hawks regroup here in the 3rd.

Eh, they looked fine to good in the last period. They just need to bring that more consistently but the Wild seems to bore them to death. Crawford let in a soft-ish goal after having not seen a shot in like 5+ minutes and a mini breakdown that has the first one most of the game.
