Should also add that with Duchene's chemistry with Kerfoot and Yakupov so far this season, which has been better than with any of his line mates the past few years, I don't see Sakic backing off his demands.

Plus, if the Avs continue to play well, especially that line, it wouldn't surprise me if Sakic decides to hold onto Duchene for the entire season and instead trade him at the draft or during free agency when other clubs can negotiate a contract extension.

Avs still want a stud defenseman. With the emergence of Yakupov, Compher, Rantanen , Andrighetto , Kerfoot and Jost all in support of Duchene, MacKinnon and Landeskog ...Avs offence is looking very good. Galcheniuk is not very attractive for this team.
