Yahoo just sent me an alert that Giroux is day-to-day with an injury.

How many points does a winger have to score to be worth $2.35m a year?
- Feanor

I'd say 30 is reasonable

Amac is not a tradeable player unless there is another cap dump coming back or the flyers send draft picks.
- Just5

Hmmmm Thats exactly what people said about Lecavalier and Pronger

Same, had him on my team. Probably just a dislocated neck.

Weise has come close but he has never scored 30 points in a season.

He's day to day away from the team dealing with a family issue apparently. No injury, no trade.

If he can produce like he did in Montreal w/ 25-30 points I'd have no issue with him.

The door was shut on Weise because of a slow start to his Flyers career. He wasn't exactly playing badly, just not producing to justify his "hefty" contract.

He finished strong and has been a mixed bag to start this season but of course, most on here can only focus on the negatives.

Good thing that 28 point Konecny is on an ELC.

I can't focus on his negatives.. there's so many of them that my mind just flits from one to the next without ever being able to settle on any particular one. Its like.. information overload.

What are they?

Early on he was turning the puck over too often and he took that stupid penalty last game.

But other than those, I've seen a player who looks faster and more engaged in the trenches.

I'll take 12 and 12 along with consistent solid play away from the puck. 30 is asking a lot with no PP time.

That 30 points is a lot for a winger who's not getting much PP time and/or not playing every game.

When hopefully the Flyers young players develop and they become a better team and move towards contender status, are you telling me that Hextall isn't going to role the dice and use free agency or acquire a high cap hit player to fill a perceived hole to try and win it all when the opportunity presents itself?
- MJL

I think he will. However, I do not think he will sign a goalie to a 7 year contract or sign a 35 year defensemen to a long contract. He will be more calculating.

Just think Hextall will rely more on internal options and trades to fill the most important roles. JMHO

Anyone else watch the Flames/Kings game last night? Jagr looked good, was involved in the offensive zone every time he was in there. Puck just seems to follow him around.

But as everyone knows, boy does he look slow. Never a speedster anyway but I thought his plodding pace was glaring last night. I hope with a few more games and practices he can get a little more pep in his step.
