How many points do the Preds have? The Sharks? The Stars, the team everyone said was going to bounce back?

I know it's said every year, but every year there's massive amounts of change. It's been 3 games. 1 good, 2 very bad. But still just 3 games. We have 10 new players, a new coach with a system that's antithetical to the old one, and what, they're supposed to be totally integrated and running it flawlessly after 3 weeks together? It's going to be at least a year.

You can't keep drastically changing things every 2 years and expect any kind of success. Everything is now, now, now. But it doesn't work like that.

- Wetbandit1

I think our whole issue is that almost the entire fanbase except for a few rose-colored glasses wearing homers, can see that regardless of anything, our effort and passion level, basically our whole demeanor as a team, is plain bad.

It looks like last year's team. From the 3rd period of the 1st game onward we have looked exactly like the last few years' team.

We should have come out with a completely new energy, demeanor and attitude and we haven't because our franchise center acts like our previous cry-baby of a franchise player, Ryan Cryin' Miller.

what are your D pairings so far?

Risto and Scandella then a bunch of all dudes rotating in the 2nd and 3rd pairs?

- DDM-Coga

So far Beaulieu has averaged more Ice-time per game than Scandella.

.....then Matt Tennyson.

Montreal ruined that kid.

I was really hoping that he'd be able to get it back together but man... He makes some really bad reads.

Really?

A Leafs fan trolling about bad management...

What a moron.

- Wetbandit1

Yes, Leaf fans know about bad management. We've seen it for years. Things changed when Shanahan took over. No more short cuts. He hired talented people, empowered them and continues to stick to the plan. Not sure how that makes me a moron other than you are bitter at the Leafs relative success.

Sabre fans are some of the best in the NHL. Real fans go to games. Just saying the Sabres are not losing because of dumb play, or lack of hard work. Their roster is neither talented or deep enough to compete in the present day NHL. Hopefully Botterill will get them out of this mess Murray created

Beaulieu Risto
Tennyson Scandella
McCabe Antipin

I'm not sure which is our 2nd and which is our 3rd pairing.

Let's put it this way, I want Bogo back.

Beaulieu on the top pair...Yikes. That explains a lot of the troubles.

Cant over use that guy. Hes a number 4 on the depth chart is used right

Yeah and Tennyson doesn't belong in the NHL IMO. Hopefully Bogo comes back, Scandella moves to top pairing and we can figure out a break out pass...it's a tough watch right now Coga. We need Zads back in earnest.

Kane has been great. 0 complaints from this hater (he really needs to stop taking penalties though)
- sbroads24

Ironically our best player YTD (so far) is likely gone by the trade deadline. Where does that leave us then on LW once he leaves? If I am Kane, there is no way that I would re-sign in Buffalo unless this team gets its head out of its a#@.

No, he really doesn't.

His inability to play as a partner for Hanifin was the reason the Canes went out and got TVR.

He's just not an NHL player.

Too bad too, he has some skills. He wasn't meant to play for the big club anyways, but has looked out of place frequently.

How's Compher been looking? Haven't watched the Avs as of yet, too much time spent moving right now.

Yeah, I mean, we all sided with Jack about Bylsma. But I at least considered he was being an entitled brat.

This season, he's already given up on at least one game. They all gave up the other night. 3 games into the season, that's not cool. It's game 3. You don't give up already.

I said something about giving Jack his contract before he earned it, and that goes beyond production. His attitude has shown me he didn't earn it. He's entitled, aloof and bitter.

This isn't just 3 games into the season, it's his 3rd season.

They look lost and it's a new system. That is an excuse. But to pout and cry and give zero effort and show zero passion, that's inexcusable.

The biggest complaint with Jason Pominville in his first tenure with the Sabres was his lack of passion, complacency and constant phrases: "The other team wanted it more" ; "We didn't try hard enough/We didn't bury our chances" and etc...

And he perfectly embodies the current body language of a team that's only 3 games into a new season. They didn't leave the past few seasons behind and they need to pull it together fast or things are going to implode.

I just want to see effort. I'm not.

Apparently, while this is forbidden for players, this is the absolutely appropriate thing to do for a fan base.

Hopefully it's only temporary. Once Scandella is up to full speed following offseason hip surgery he should be on the top pair. I think he only played in 1 pre season game? And was held out of the rest because they didn't want to rush him.

He's not a first pairing guy either, but I like him way more than Beaulieu. Scandella is more of a steady guy and that's what Risto needs more than anything.

Honestly, take away Kane and a few plays by Eichel that led to goals(for as bad as everyone keeps saying he's been he still has 3 points in 3 games) this is the worst NHL hockey I've ever seen. They get the puck and panic and don't know what to do 90% of the time. Every once and a while they'll get a rush going and then they'll (frank) it up by holding onto the puck and getting their pocket picked or outmanned, bad shot, or bad pass and then it's right back to the other team.

They are not anywhere near this bad, but they need to get out of this funk quickly.

I think when your entire team's existence is mired in mediocrity, and you're not being paid handsomely to support your team, it is "absolutely appropriate" for the fan base to react this way.

We deserve better. Plain and simple. 50 years in the NHL, 0-2 Stanley Cup Finals, 1 President's Trophy, and not much else.

Same with the Bills. They're an historically bad team. Somehow 2 AFL Championships (But this is like Leafs fans gloating about their Stanley Cup wins when there was only 6 teams and a 16% chance of winning every year), 0-4 in Super Bowls and a 403-462-8 record all-time.

Stop it. We are 100% justified in being fed up with this and calling out on it. I don't care what Terry Pegula is trying to do. I want results. We deserve results. We've put up with mediocre teams for too long.

Funny how in sports, it's perfectly acceptable to make excuses for career athletes doing their job poopty, but in real life, even a bad day at Dollar General can get you fired.

BLOW. IT. UP.

Eichel and Mittlestadt should be only untouchables. Clear as many of the long term deals as possible.

Get Dahlen in the 2018 draft.
