If I was Morin I would much rather spend a full week practicing with the Flyers while getting paid an NHL salary, than be sent back early by myself.
- Feanor

Yes, this, although I don't think he has a two way deal so pay is the same. But a week on the road with the big club is not a bad thing for a young guy even if he doesn't play.

That's a valid excuse for like 95% of teams. But certain teams, like the Rangers, Cowboys, Yankees, Devils, and Ravens...there is no reason, aside from family relations to players/staff, to like them. None, zero, zilch.

I'm not even an avid Eagles' fan, but I'll be damned if I ever let one of my kids wear a Dallas shirt.

Every player on an ELC is on a two-way contract. His NHL base salary is 11.9 times larger than his AHL salary.

Just saying, the coach isn't the one who sets the roster. If Hakstol doesn't want to play 3 rookies, it's on Hextall to send him to the AHL.
- jmatchett383

I know this, yes. Point is don't scratch one.

Options are

1. Play Morin, scratch Sanhiem
2. Play Sanhiem, scratch Morin
3. Scratch both in the NHL
4. Play both in the NHL
5. Play one in the NHL and one in the AHL

Options 4 and 5 are the only correct ones.

Regarding Tokarski and Irving, Flyers should have just resigned Zepp to a multi-year deal.

Could probably sign Greta Van Fleet - sounds much like Zepp at a fraction of the cost

I'd rather see if we can bring Martin Houle out of retirement to work on his career 27.27 GAA.

Wow, never paid attention this this. Veccs is on a one way deal. So he makes more in the A than our 1st round pics? That's pretty (frank)ed up. Well, up for 4 game make damn near his AHL salary for the year.

I always saw the Penguins as more of a Crosby rivalry. If Crosby, Malkin, and Letang retired tomorrow, the rivalry would be next to dead. For the Rangers, I will hate them no matter who is on the team.

I actually hate the murderers Ravens fans at my work more than the Caps fans.

- jmatchett383

When the Pens were at their Mario-era peak with 2 Cups, the Flyers were in the middle of their 5 year run without playoffs. Still, the rivalry picked up during the 89 playoffs and stayed good until the Pens hit rock bottom. With Crosby, who is the most hated opponent I've ever seen, it went to another level.

The rivalry won't die after the current Pens core is done but the rivalries all wax and wane. Meeting in the playoffs always heats things up. It's bigger than Crosby but he's been fuel in the fire and there's more to come.

I'm in SWFLA so I have no choice. I get NHL.TV so I can stream anywhere. You need good internet and laptop to avoid buffering issues. The other plus is not having to listen to home team announcers when the are on the road. You can pay this one monthly if you want and cancel anytime. (That part is new).

But I can kill him for scratching one if them.

Play them in the NHL or the AHL. Scratching one or both is (frank)ing stupid. That's why I'm one of those "knee jerkers". Because I believe Morin shouldn't be sitting, he should be playing. If it's in the AHL? Fine. I do get the issue- personally, I don't care how many rookies start, but I'm not the coach. If he cares, then fine. If he trusts the vet MacDonald or Gudas, fine. Whatever the reason is, fine. If he plays and it's in the NHL for MacDonald? Even better.

Don't scratch him. Stupid.

I wouldn't be so outspoken against the coach's d decisions if it was say Schultz or Manning scratched. The fact that it's a 22 yo promising Morin is garbage. That's the problem.

- Giroux_Is_God

This is an overreaction. If the situation goes on for a while and one of the young defenseman is still not playing then it's an issue. Not for the coach but for the GM. He decides who is on the NHL roster and who goes to the AHL. The coach certainly has input but ultimately it is on the GM. Sitting for a handful of games isn't going to kill a play but a decision needs to be made soon.
