Well they traded Irving

Flyers twitter has to be drunk haha...they acquired Tokarski from San Diego for future considerations and then traded Leland Irvang to San Diego for future considerations

- YuenglingJagr

Maybe they have to be separate transactions since one is on a NHL contract and the other just an AHL contract?

It is technically two separate trades. Tokarski is on an NHL two-way contract and Irving on a straight-up AHL deal. Since Irving couldn't be traded by the Flyers since he wasn't under Flyers contract but could be traded by the Phantoms, it was done as two separate transactions.

I'm not too worried about the situation on the defense yet, as long as either Sanheim or Morin is playing instead of Manning.

Injuries will likely happen, at some point, and/or someone's play will slip and they can get a breather. I, too, would like to see Morin playing, but I get it -- Gudas and MacDonald have been fine, by and large. The Flyers have only given up seven goals in three games...I can't kill the coach over the lineup as long as one of Sanheim or Morin is playing each game

Blues and Islanders on at 1pm. Guess I should check that out since I'm busy avoiding all things that smack of "responsible adulthood" today.

Also, Leafs and Blackhawks tonight should be fun.

- Doc_Sarcasm

I am extremely excited about the game tonight -- Patrick Kane looks really healthy, really motivated. He is one of the players who I think can take the scoring title back from McDavid -- I think that some are conceding that a little too quickly

Don't worry, someone will trump up some fake charges against Kane by mid-December at which point he'll have to take a leave of absence from the team.

I mean, wait, someone made some unsubstantiated claims against him and tried to tamper with supposed evidence of a police investigation!?!? Kane is a scumbag!

Kane put on a clinic in that Pittsburgh game. That backhand pass to Hartman from behind the net was sick.. and then the backhand shot by Hartman was a thing of beauty too.

The team likes Provorov on the left side. Same with Gostisbehere. The issue is, based on my reading of Bill's column, playing the off D is the big hole in Morin's game. That is a reasonable thing to get him working on.
- fls13

He's never going to play the right side.

But I can kill him for scratching one if them.

Play them in the NHL or the AHL. Scratching one or both is (frank)ing stupid. That's why I'm one of those "knee jerkers". Because I believe Morin shouldn't be sitting, he should be playing. If it's in the AHL? Fine. I do get the issue- personally, I don't care how many rookies start, but I'm not the coach. If he cares, then fine. If he trusts the vet MacDonald or Gudas, fine. Whatever the reason is, fine. If he plays and it's in the NHL for MacDonald? Even better.

Don't scratch him. Stupid.

I wouldn't be so outspoken against the coach's d decisions if it was say Schultz or Manning scratched. The fact that it's a 22 yo promising Morin is garbage. That's the problem.

He's only missed two AHL games, and seemingly only because they needed injury cover for Ghost. I think he'll cope.

Just saying, the coach isn't the one who sets the roster. If Hakstol doesn't want to play 3 rookies, it's on Hextall to send him to the AHL.

I think they were forced to take all 3 rookies on the left coast swing because Ghost’s status was questionable at the time of the trip. Not going to keep 8 D men at the NHL level and sit a rookie. They have to and will play, somewhere.

This is true. However, after they'd decided they were going to stick with Sanheim, there was no reason to keep him unless they wanted him as their actual #7 D (Manning goes to #8) and he would be their go-to for the California trip.

But if that's the case, I hope they don't recall him with intent to healthy scratch him for their Western Canada trip, as well.

Yes, but that status was answered 2 days before the Phantoms had any games. More than enough time for him to join the Phantoms.

So your enjoying Weise in the lineup over seeing what Lehtera could do?

I understand that part, but is the "future considerations" thing just going to go away? I think it would be funny if one deal said future considerations and the next one said past considerations

I thought you couldn't trade for futures or cash any more. Just make it a conditional 7th round pick and have the condition be that Irving must appear in a minimum 752 NHL games this season and lead the league in goals by 463.

Edit: Also, wouldn't he have to be traded by the Flyers to San Deigo's parent club (Anaheim?) since he's on a two-way NHL contract?
