He is a goalie that can be called up to the Flyers in the event they need to call him up to the Flyers

Stolarz is out long term, Leland wasn't all that impressive and he was also on an AHL contract?

Bill's explanation from the Ducks thread...

The reasoning is this: Tokarski is an NHL two-way deal, whereas Irving is on an AHL contract. Since both veterans are ticketed to spend the season in the AHL but the Flyers may need a backup at some point if either Elliott or Neuvirth get injured, having Tokarski come up may be preferable to having Lyon come out only to sit as a backup.

You certainly are entitled to that opinion but what is it based on? Hagg and Morin have played 5 NHL game between them. You have no basis for forming that opinion.

Like yourself I've watched Macdonald play for the last few years...unless you count that time he was sent to the AHL because he was playing so well....mistake prone, inconsistent, a liability....the analytics are consistent....he's just not very good...yes like any guy in the league for that long he has shown periods of usefulness, hence why he has the contract he does. I've listened to you same dribble about him for years.....I listened to your same dribble about Vinny when he was here and you were wrong about that as well.
Yes the kids are young and somewhat inexperienced, but if that's your only argument it's pretty weak. Your Truely clueless when it comes to discussing Macdonald, another bad contract hanging on for the time being, but his time will come sooner then later.

I'm hoping Morin gets a shot in Sanheim or Hagg's place tomorrow, preferably Hagg's spot. If that doesn't happen it's pretty easy to guess he's going back to Lehigh when they get home from Nashville. Don't think there's any way he stays in the press box when they get home. We'll probably see a swap with Read. Myers and Morin in the AHL should be deadly.

I didn't play in checking leagues as an adult. Some stuff did go on and I had a good idea of what I could get away with. You couldn't run anybody but you could get up on them and push them around, work a puck carrier that way. It could certainly get a little physical and the speed and skill were decent so guys were zipping around, serious injuries did happen. Seriously though, in this day and age if you want to fight, get into MMA or boxing.

There wasn't too much in the way of fighting, the league suspensions were from 1-3 games first fight and between 3 and 10 for the second depending on the league. After that they just sent you home.
Actually saw the same kid get banned from 3 different house leagues because he was such an ass. Always starting poop. His first game in the no check league I was reffing he started poop. I pulled him away 3 times and got him in the box.told him if he started again I wasn't going to save him. Soon as he got out he went for the guy and I just watched. The other guy stopped when he got tired of punching him in his face . Broke his nose and one orbit socket. His mommy tried to sue the league. Turned out he gave a false name, was only 19 and not old enough for the over 21 league. Since there was no record of him ever joining or playing in the league it went away. Always one of them.

Lady Byng baby! Lol Well, if you dont hack and keep your stick down it isnt that hard. Just leaves hooking and holding. They go away if you keep your feet moving. What a concept, right.

Any fun drama or chaos on any of the backpages?

Looking forward to tomorrow night..Even in the loss to the Kings they showed things I have not seen on a Flyers team in a long time.

It has an app for almost anything I have seen, but you cant watch national or local broadcasts...so for a Flyers fan in the Philly area, it is basically useless

That's a valid excuse for like 95% of teams. But certain teams, like the Rangers, Cowboys, Yankees, Devils, and Ravens...there is no reason, aside from family relations to players/staff, to like them. None, zero, zilch.
- jmatchett383

Wait, what's wrong with the Ravens? Flacco is from south jersey so I feel like the Ravens are a home team of sorts and generally want them to do well, though I'm not a big football fan in general.

Yup, that's pretty much it. It's that simple. I wanted to get as much ice time as I could.

Of course hooking and holding penalties were way different than they are now. I used that to great advantage. Couple little hooks until I could lean in with my elbow and then ride them off.

Definitely the wood on wood stick hack was a move I used and was certainly legal in my league and the pros back then. Now, you break the other guy's #2 pencil and it's an obvious two.

so no Sammy for us yet. In addition to insurance for Ghost, I think keeping him on the trip was a perk, he IS part of the team, just not enough room for him at the moment.

For all the hype about the Sixers, without Embiid, they have zero offense. He really needs to be healthy or it's gonna be a long season.

Not sure I could have played as well with these rules. Little, quick, shifty guys are hard to corral without hooks.

They always had to come to the middle. It was the big, shifty guys I had trouble with.

Anyone see Patricks assist Saturday. Now THAT was sweet. Great vision, he also had Coots in the circle, but stationary with his stick down. Looked right past him to Provey steaming down the slot and picked the guy that could walk right into it. No chance to stop that. Yes, Nico's assist was sweet.
Patrick had a shift late in the game behind the net battling with two guys and came away with it, put it out front. he has some shifts where he plays like a monster. He's feeling it a bit. You can see it starting. His top end seems ok, just that first step isn't there yet. I like his game with TK. They played well together. His conditioning isn't where it should be. Bolts just won in OT. How about the snipe from Matthews in OT to win.

The big guys had enough size and meat on them that I could get a piece. Little guys are like swatting gnats. Could take them in the corner though. In puck races they would try to hold back a bit to let me in first, i would reach back and toss them into the boards first. No one expected that.

Definitely, the old shoulder bump was OK in my league during races for loose pucks. That was a legit part of physicality. You could separate a guy from the puck, mix it up on the boards and in front of the net. They just wanted to avoid guys getting really drilled with tough hits. It wasn't a no-touch league by any stretch. The way you had to play the small fast guys was close your gap nice and steady and get in touch with them and then muscle them. Then I always tried to outquick the guys who were bigger and stronger than me.
