Interesting. Filppula played well with Simmonds & Weal down the stretch last year, and I like the combo of Patrick/ TK.
However, if you are going to make this switch, I really wish they'd switch up Weise and Raffl too. Laughton & Leier are driving the 4th line right now and I don't think Weise would hurt them much.
Raffl-Patrick-Konecny would be an interesting combo. - BiggE
Like that but maybe put Lehtera in for Weiss. He played well with Coots last year but who doesn't? Speaking of Coots, he has been skating on the rush with the puck more. Had one last game where he picked the puck up behind Neuvey in step moving left to right, accelerated out of the zone crossing to the other side and all the way behind Quick for a nice pass out front. He even backed off the D.
I'm having trouble justifying Weiss at this point. Man they are close to really being something good. |

That Flip line didn't play well down the stretch though. That's the issue. No line Flip has been on in his Flyers tenure has played anything but shades of bad. And I worry that they are actually moving Patrick down and giving Flip more ice time.
Yes, Raffl would be better than Weise on that present line, but it's hard to break up a good thing with the 4th line. Raffl's impact on them can't be taken for granted.....Leier and Laughton have shown no plus ability to play drive in their short careers. That's Raffl's speciality, so I'm guessing he's holding that line together more than you think.
I mean the real solution is so simple......move your best center back to center, move the winger playing center to wing, and roll 3 lines few teams can match up with. This is just superficial re-arranging to me. But I will love to see TK apart from Weise and Flip who were suffocating him. But if that means Flip gets even MORE ice-time and Patrick less, I don't think that's good. Again, (frank)ing move Giroux back. (frank) (frank)ity (frank). |

Good points, and yeah, if it was up to me, Giroux would be at center, Lindblom in the lineup and Weise in the presser sharing popcorn with Lehtera.
I would roll:
TK-Coots-Jake
Lindblom-G-Simmonds
Raffl-Patrick-Weal
Leier-Laughton-Filppula
But oh well. |

Filppula was already getting more ice time than Patrick and Laughton was almost getting as much. I'd let things ride up front and not tinker too much. They're getting enough chances, they just need to finish more, at least they did against LA.
Nice to see Hak going back to Sanheim. Hopefully, he gets on track the way he did when he stumbled a bit in pre-season. I certainly would not have minded seeing Morin but it looks like he's odd man out once they get back to Philly. |

This fourth line is strong and I agree on Raffl being a big part of it. They like Flip so I don't see him getting less ice time.
Lets be honest, they are short one to two good players up front from being good. The same on D. They are in the system. The D are on this (frank)ing trip!!
The forward is in LHV and it ain't Read. Lindblom gets a poop load of ice time in LHV, gets PP time and in a month is up here.
I am so edgy waiting for the kids to settle in or get in. |

Bernier just made a save that not only did everyone know it was going in the net when it left Severson's stick, the red light went on almost as soon as he let it go |

Yeah, because Flip is on PP1 for whatever reason doing little to nothing. But they got identical minutes ES.
Laughton was getting over 2 minutes less than either at ES. Hell, strong argument he should get more. He just made it up in comparison by averaging 4 minutes/game SH on PK1. |

They actually have a good crowd in New Jersey today
The Devils are pretty fast. This is the secomd time i have watched the Avalanche, and they really aren't very good, though they beat the Rags the other day |

Hakstol rolls his lines and D pairings pretty good. If you're in the lineup, you'll get your ice time. I really like the first line and would not change that unless the 2nd and 3rd lines don't generate offense . . . and even then since there are other lineup options (Lindblom?). We will see how that goes. I think Patrick will start to noticeably look better by the end of the first month. He'll have a much better November and it's not like he's playing bad now. |

He is playing out his ass today. He robbed Hall and then made three on the same bang bang play. FWIW, I wanted him over Elliot. |

More fun to watch the Devils now than ever Wonder how many points HaXstol will grab from the fastest Devils team in history. |

tough way to start the season 3 games in 4 days and out west, love to see them come back with 2 wins. Like to see Sam get into the lineup tonight, give them a chance to see which Sanheim or Morin they want to keep up here. |

please tell me this is the last chance for Weise, he is horrible. They are not getting the guy from late last season, they are getting the guy from most of last season.
good to see Sachem stay, i would say put in Morin but as much as I hate to say it, McDuck was good last game. |

agree on patrick, I think the speed of the game, his only playing 33 games last season and surgery are affecting him. 30 days he should be up to pace. |

Ian Cole's mouth just got destroyed while blocking a shot in the Pit-Nas game. They have a slow-motion replay head on, the moment that the puck hits his mouth is awful. |
