According to an official announcement from the Toronto Maple Leafs Public Relations team, the Maple Leafs and the Las Vegas Golden Knights have agreed to terms on a trade.

In the deal the Leafs will receive goaltender Calvin Pickard from the Golden Knights and going back the other way will be forward Tobias Lindberg and a 6th round draft selection in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

More to come.

Would be nice if one of our highly drafted players could fill that position instead of paying another $6 for a player that probably poops the bed the year after we get them.

What stood out to me in regard to Kane was him ripping shots that missed the net and ricocheted around the boards into our zone. Or shooting from bad angles to rebound to the defense that had to haul ass to keep it in.

Quality of shots, not quantity might help him.

I am actually withgerbe on this one...
I found myself screaming at the tv on multiple occasions during the pp where we would settle it down, move the puck around, not take a couple marginal shot opps, puck goes to kane on the wall and he tries some dumb bad angle low percentage shot attempt and totally blew the whole play. I find it infuriating. If they want to keep him on jacks line he at least should never be on a pp unit or out there in ot as he just seems to give it away all the time. Same old story with him i guess.

^^ this as well. I dont know if the coaches are telling him to shoot all the time or not but im pretty sure theyre not telling him he isnt allowed to pass the puck. Every time he gets it he just looks straight at the boards and glass just to the side of the net and fires away. It takes the wind out of the sails more often than not it seems.

I didn';t see the game last night. Curious to know how Rhino, Pouliot, Buy-low and Griffith played.

I agree 100% and I will continue to say Kane should be with Reinhart. Of Kane's 11 shots...how many were high quality chances? I don't remember any. I do remember his shots ending shifts for that line a number of times. Eichel had 3 shots! Is that because he wasn't getting himself into situations where he could shoot? I don't think so...I think it's cause when Kane gets anywhere inside the blue line he's gonna shoot. And that's okay...for the most part...just not on Jack's line. He's robbing Jack of the chance to do what he does best and that's hang on to the puck and create. If you play with Jack you should be able to move the puck quick (ie Reino, ERod, maybe Griffith). Or get into the right spots to shoot (ie Pommer). If Reinhart is gonna stay at center...that's where Kane should be. Sometimes star players just don't mesh. I'm not taking anything away from Kane, he has a unique and valuable skill set...just doesn't work with Jack.

Rhino - Competent, but missed a couple tap ins/redirections

Pouliot - Best game I've seen yet, he's nothing spectacular but seems to have a cannon and some good vision in the O-zone

Beau - Not as good as he looked in preseason, but still was solid

Griffith - I like what I see, nice dish to Pommer for his first goal and has a ton of speed

Just personal thoughts, others may disagree
