I don't think Weise is that bad as a 4th-line player. He'd mesh well w/ guys like Laughts, Raffl, Leier.

He's no 3rd-line player tho... and neither is Konecny for that matter.

- Tomahawk

The NHL is now about having 3 good scoring lines. Each line needs a catalyst and Konecny can be that for that line. Ice time should be based on which line is playing the best.

Feeling like a broken record at this point but Weise set Konecny up with 2 grade A scoring chances in the third period. He has decent puck skills but was bleeding turn overs in the first 2 periods of the game. I think he probably get's another shot tonight but if the wrong Weise shows up, I'm all for Lehtera on Saturday.

Weal looked like Weise out there...except for a slight difference in shooting percentage

I thought the team played very good and 93 and 28 had more jump than I have seen in awhile. Konecny, Weal and obviously Simmonds were very noticeable. Elliot got the job done and it would be wise to keep playing him until he loses. Couter has fit in well at #1 center even though he is not one. I think he might score once in 20 breakaway attemps if he got lucky, lol But he is making the line tick so that is good. Fun game to watch and a great start. First time the Sharks have lost an opener in 7 years.

I would, but I usually can't watch a 60 minute hockey game while I'm at work

I'm pissed we traded Schenn. If we still had him, maybe our PP would have been more effective last night.
- jmatchett383

The pp would have been five for five with Schenn in the lineup, lol Honestly I miss Schenn more than most but he was a beast in his first game in St. Louis. I really think he needed a change of scenery to get to the next level. One day Flyers fans will look back and say wow we should have kept Schenn. The thing is I am certain Schenn will have a career year this year but he would never have done it in Philly. The trade will take years to evaluate but the Blues clearly win for now.

Yeah, he sure did a hell of a job giving Pittsburgh a point in one of the smartest hockey plays of all time last night. Really helped his team's cause.

It's a shame for Schenn. He played a whale of a hockey game until the end. Pietrangelo bailed him out.

During that Beast game he had you must have missed one of the dumbest plays I have seen recently which gave the Pens a PP that they scored on.

Just to be clear, it actually led to 2 goals, the second which tied the game. The second one was scored seconds after his penalty expired.

So apparently, the Flyers are refusing to name their lineup until the game starts (or the pre-game skate), per Isaac. Guess it's hard to find out when there's no game-day practice.

Manning has to be out at this point. Just save him for the Oilers games.

I need to go soon, my dad needs to use the phone. My dad checked the phonebook and found the number for the new CVS, and he wants to find out how long it will be to get 3 rolls of film developed.

Like, just keep him in one of those "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" boxes until they play McDavid.
