I was wondering when the Schenn-anigans were going to begin. Page 14 was a treat. Thanks

I wasn't impressed with Lehtera during the pre-season. I don't think any of the forwards, Weise included, looked so bad I'd tinker with those lines. I thought Weise looked fine save for the bad dump on the PK which he shouldn't have been out there for in the first place.
- fls13

You're right, Lehtera was bad in pre-season but he should still get into the line up at some point to hopefully show a little more. I don't mind Weise on the third line if he plays like he did in the 3rd period. The other 2 periods he was an ineffective turn over machine, not just referring to the failed PK clear either.

Yup, I also think the 2nd line, which looked fine last night, will only look better as Patrick gets back to full speed and they start to develop more chemistry.

The 3rd line would probably be better off with Raffl replacing Weise, but then you weaken the 4th line which has been playing very well so I wouldn't make that change. I'm not sure that swapping Weise for Lehtera does much to help things either, so hopefully Lindblom knocks their socks off at LHV and in a few weeks he can come up and replace Weise on that line.

One thing to think about for late in the season. I was really, really impressed with Vorobyev in camp. Hopefully he can pick up a little English and acclimate more to the NA style of game and rink as he spends the next few months in LHV. However, if they do move a guy like Filppula at the deadline and the kid is playing well, it would be very interesting to see a young line of Lindblom-Vorobyev-Konecny down the stretch kind of rotating in with the Laughton line as the 3rd/4th line.

- BiggE

I can see that happening. I think Vorobyev is ahead of where they thought he would be. i hope him and Lindblom light it up.

Filpulla could be a solid add for a playoff team down the stretch depending where the Flyers are in the standings

He is still just 20 (will be 21 at the TDL). I don't see him coming up this year unless they are really hurt by injuries.

I don't expect the Flyers to be sellers unless they are really hurting, but I do think Vorobyev will have a chance to blow them away next camp

I agree, but right now, that Leier-Laughton-Raffl line looks fantastic. I wouldn't mess with it.

Lethera's ability is passing, TK needs some help. Weise good or bad, doesnt have the skill to play with TK. Weise is 4th line at best

Vorobyev, if all goes well becomes 3rd line center with TK on the wing. You could make a case now for it, though I think if they can find a better choice than Weise, Flip and TK should be ok this season. That will give Vorobyev the time in the AHL.

I think Lehtera will be the fifth center so he's definitely in if a center goes down. He's obviously the first forward in until they get 14 forwards back on the roster which is only a matter of time.

If one of the Top 9 wings really sags, that's when I think we'll see Lindblom provided he produces in the AHL. Even if they didn't do it AS the 2nd line, the 2nd line produced great with 4 goals last night.

Feeling like a broken record at this point but Weise set Konecny up with 2 grade A scoring chances in the third period. He has decent puck skills but was bleeding turn overs in the first 2 periods of the game. I think he probably get's another shot tonight but if the wrong Weise shows up, I'm all for Lehtera on Saturday.

I'm pissed we traded Schenn. If we still had him, maybe our PP would have been more effective last night.

I think Weise can be better than a fourth line player. His play at the end of last season shows thing. I'm starting to believe it depends more so on the mix. With the Canadiens, he was a decent player. He gets traded to the Hawks, his play jumps off a cliff. It was a bad signing from the start and his time on a very good Hawks team indicates this.
