I've always been a fan of Raffl. He's a player that can move up and down the lineup and be effective. I like that 4th line but I just think that Raffl creates more with his skating and forecheck ability and can pop in the odd goal. With the veteran depth the Flyers have there should be competition for playing time among the bottom 6.

I agree, but right now, that Leier-Laughton-Raffl line looks fantastic. I wouldn't mess with it.

Any change to the roster tonight?

I'm expecting Morin in but I expected him yesterday.

If it happens one of Manning or Hagg sit.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lehtera is in for Weise.

When Lehtera eventually gets into the lineup I'd like to see either Lehtera or Raffl with Filppula and Konecny to see how that 3rd line looks with a different wing.

Ijust realized that Hagg didn't record a point or fight anyone. Bust.

LOL Don't sweat it. They're going back through posts to see what they can find

We all kniw what's coming: At some point, he will say something to me, I will remind him that Matt Read is on waivers and T.J. oshie isn't, and the board will move on with their lives

- AllInForFlyers

Really? Can't think of anything else? Same example used in less than a week.

I'd just replace Weise with Lehtera at first. I don't want to mess with the chemistry of the Leier-Laughton-Raffl line right now.

This would be a sensible change but Hakstol is basically a nicer, kinder Berube.

My point is that in my opinion MacDonald wearing an "A" has zero bearing on what the Flyers may or may not do with him in the future.
- MJL

Personally I think the Flyers players voted on the guy least expected to be a decent assistant captain as a joke...

Right, PEB?

Hagg was ok last night. He really was physical with SJ in our own end and effective at it. JC Morin better draw in tonight for Manning

I'd give Weise some more time there. He's in on the forecheck hard, the other 2 on that line are not physical guys. Lehtera at wing didn't impress me this preseason

I'm pissed we traded Schenn. If we still had him, maybe our PP would have been more effective last night.

I don't think Weise is that bad as a 4th-line player. He'd mesh well w/ guys like Laughts, Raffl, Leier.

He's no 3rd-line player tho... and neither is Konecny for that matter.

Yep, he basically gave them a point last night.

I think the forwards will remain the same tonight. See if Weise can pick up from where he got to in the 3rd period. If not, Lehtera should get his shot to upgrade the line.

I wasn't impressed with Lehtera during the pre-season. I don't think any of the forwards, Weise included, looked so bad I'd tinker with those lines. I thought Weise looked fine save for the bad dump on the PK which he shouldn't have been out there for in the first place.
