It's a little odd both rookies sat. Hextall has steadfastly said he wouldn't have a rookie on the team sitting because they need to be playing.
- J35Bacher

Technically, neither has missed an AHL game yet since the Phantoms don't play till Saturday.

he said for an extended period of time. It'll happen soon for one of them, but I don't see how both get in anytime soon.
- YuenglingJagr

I just hate the mix with both sitting. The top pair is what it is. The mix of the other pairings bugs me. Even if morin and sanheim still sit I think i would still rather see this:

Provorov - MacDonald
Hagg - Gudas
Manning - Gostisbehere

Just pointing it out because I think it is funny...from our long lost friend Jsaq

@jsaquella
Hextall has traded Scott Hartnell, Kimmo Timonen & Mark Streit while they were alternate captains & left Pierre-Edouard Bellemare exposed

LOL True, but with his contract, that is a heavy lift. Imthink he is here for a bit longer, this season at a minimum

I truly believe the team could get rid of him if they wanted to

Setting the bar kind of low, ain't ya?

Ha, well that was my comparison since Pierre is currently on the "A crew" for playoff games. I'm hoping that as soon as Doc retires, (which I hope is soon, the guy is awful) that they bring a new crew in for play by play, color, and inside the glass.

Did it seem like Pierre was annoying the poop out of Milburry last night?

Pierre said something about reeling in Ray Bourque or something but Milburry was like " It was ray bourque, I just let him do his thing and played him as much as i could"

I actually agree with that, if they were motivated sellers, they could do something

He isn't the worst defenseman in that league. He has flaws, but there are worse guys and while the contrwct is tricky, i do agree they could move him if they wanted to

I don't think, as of this miment, they want to, tbh

Pierre was comparing Kris Letang to Ray Bourque.

Why would Doc retire before he drops dead? Easiest gig in sports besides backup qb and big dollars.

Won’t happen until he falls over. Pierre is here to stay as well for the same reasons. Once you get those types of jobs you stick around until the cold icy grip of death.

They could.

They could attach something attractive to him and get him moved. Maybe they do something next year when they have money coming off the books. then it's not as bad keeping money retained for a couple years.

I'd be surprised if they change the lineup at all after a win. Hak wouldn't do it last year.

Konecny was a very effective player last night. Weise I thought did ok on that line during 5 vs 5 including setting up Konecny on a breakaway but over time I don't see that line contributing much. I think Lindblom comes up to spell Weise over some time.

The 4th line was awesome to watch last night. Would be nice to see some touch out of Laughton on that grade A chance he got but that line is going to be a terror with the speed it has, much like recent Pens 4th lines killing it with speed

I don't even think they would need to "attach" something outside of retained salary or taking on another bad contract

I'm waiting on the details of how bad Manning, MacDonald, and Wiese were last night.
- MJL

Manning and AMac were fine, thought Gudas was by far their worst defenseman last night. Not that I want Gudas out of the line up, would still sub Morin in for Manning.

Weise sucked for 2 periods and came alive in the third. Set up Konecny for 2 grade A scoring chances.

The 4th line kind of reminds me of the Pandalfo - Madden - Brylin line the Devils used to role out.

Is their 3rd-line center, Kempe, the one we tried to sign a couple years ago and the NHL disallowed it?

No, I believe you are talking about Tomas Hyka, who made the Vegas Golden Knights roster

except they probably would've played with a lead during the last 10 minutes of the game

That's not true. Ghost's first scratch came in a win over the Jets, but he played the next game.
