@Doc_Sarcasm what two teams do we snag a point from?
My bold prediction: PLind will emerge from the storm drain as soon as one of our opponents scores on us. - EducatedOpinion
The two obligatory SO losses will be against Jersey. Because, of course. Jersey. |

My expectations of the Flyers this year:
I expect the Flyers to show better consistency and progression as a team. Hopefully battle for a playoff spot.
Consistency: No more years of one week they look like one of the best teams in the league then fall off a cliff and look they don't care for a month. Players have slumps, every single player having a slump at the exact time is unacceptable.
Progression: Flyers being one of the younger teams in the league (anyone know the exact rank?) I expect ups and downs, but also improvement as the season goes on. Veterans need to step up this year and take more responsibility for their play. Every team has player injuries and surgeries, it is no longer an excuse or valid reason for subpar play. Keyword being play, not stats. Individual stats will always be higher when the team wins. I expect better progression throughout the year as a cohesive unit since this is the team being drafted, built and assembled for the future.
Predictions are for wieners, I want a more enjoyable experience watching the Flyers this year.
GO FLYERS! - Glak18
I think the kids will all be fine, they are a very talented bunch. If this team is going to be successful, the veterans are going to have to step up. The Elliott/Neuvirth tandem will need to give them more consistent goaltending than Mason/Neuvirth game them last year. Giroux and Voracek both need to have bounce back seasons and Sean Couturier, getting the biggest opportunity of his career, will need to produce more than he has in the past. It should be an interesting season to say the least.

I lied, here are my predictions:
1) 2Real blames the goaltending after every loss
2) PLind is PLind
3) MJL has "adult debates" 82 times over the season
4) Schenn scores his first goal of the year and someone screams they should of kept him then cries about missing his boyish good looks
5) JoeGrief says something insightful, but no one realizes it
6) Toronto and Philly become rivals this year and the ban wars begin |

The west looks about even but yeah I really think both Eastern Conference divisions are going to be a crap shoot between 3 and 6 or 7. Going to be a wild season. |

Going to be tough for the Flyers to make it this year. I think it's either them or Carolina who makes it and the NYR fall out.
If I had to say now I'd say Carolina but that's why they play the games |

The top 5 candidates
1. Weise
The prize free agent of the 2016 class is leading the pack by solid margin to start the season
2. AMac
Overpaid and underappreciated, AMac is a perennial favorite in this contest and should never be counted out.
3. Claude "aka Fraud" Giroux
The Flyers captain was quite the whipping boy last year and as soon as he goes one game without scoring, all bets are off.
4. Sean Couturier
Anointed by many as nothing but a 3rd line center, Coots is being asked to step up to the top unit. The first time he flubs a shot, the torches and pitchforks will surely come out.
5. Brandon Manning
The nerve of the coaching staff to actually dress him in a game that counts. He could quickly be the sleeper in this poll.

The good news is he's only wearing the A for either home or away games I can't remember who got which A.

So the general consensus of the message boards are that:
1. The flyers aren't a playoff team
2. Why is AMac in the lineup, an Alt Captain, breathing air
3. Brandon Manning belongs in a disney on ice production over being in the NHL
4. Excitement about the kids
5. Weise seems like this years VDV
One thing Im surprised hasnt been mentioned yet at all, are the names Neuvirth and Eliott. I'd call that baby steps. |

Its obviously Weise for a multitude of reasons. So lets just call him VDW.
Also Amac with the A is hilarious. Guess he is a "good soldier" like Bellemare was last year. More proof this organization has this weird fetish with "good soldiers" and those that "do things the right way" even if that means playing bad hockey.
Really strange. |
