Mason is having a rough first outing. Softy off of a faceoff and completely missing a puck cycle around the points and in towards the net for a goal. Was looking the wrong way the whole time. Ouch.

Can't wait for Manning to join the captaincy. Amac for home evening games, Filpula for away evening games, and Manning for all afternoon games.

Manning was the C of his junior team and wore the A for a while in the AHL. He is a leadership, character individual who is very well respected by his teammates and his coaches.

You could do a lot worse than him as one of the A's.

Well, part two is what we all want to see. Gotta be honest, Sanhiem surprised the crap out of me. I didn't see him play last year at all. I can see him down for a short time, but not sure why. Morin has no business anywhere lower then 3rd pair with Ghost. Only one will go down so still 2 rooks in the line up. Lindblom tore it up in the AHL so 10 games should acclimate him to the small rink and help him be more aggressive on offense.

Still really young team. Leir had what 10 games, Laughton I think only 2 last year. Weal 23, Patrick 0. 4 kids in the line up with less than 40 games TOTAL in the league last year. It's time to bring them in but maybe not all at once.

No, I just try to counter some of the dislike everyone has for him. I appreciate the fact an undrafted guy worked hard to earn his chance in the NHL. He's what he is....a #6/#7 who does whatever he can to stay in the lineup with limited talent.

And no, I'm not Brandon Manning, although some of the folks on the Flyers Board at HF Boards thought I was for a while...lol. Some might still think I am.

Look, I want the Flyers to win every night no matter who they have in the lineup. Manning is playing tonight, but I fully expect him to be scratched most nights moving forward. He will be the #7 and play about 20-25 games in the Nick Schultz role from last year.
