Are you suggesting that Wiercioch is a prospect????

Pouliot would require waivers, is an RFA at the end of the year, and they just traded a pick for him, there's no way they try and send him to Utica.

Weircoch is a two-way (I think) contract insurance D-man signed to a 1 year deal. He is already sent down to the AHL as per Benning about an hour ago...

I see. He will have to be on the roster today at 2, and then placed on waivers after that.

Yes he said he will be on waivers tomorrow

It's a 1-way per Cap Friendly. He will get sent down after the 23 man roster is set which will require some paper transactions to make room. Either way, the result is the same. I just felt like Benning would want to keep the guy he just signed over the guy he signed last year... Whatever, no big deal either way.

Just watched and he did say Green likes to play dmen to their handedness. Amazing how Biega manages to keep sticking around in the NHL, testament to working hard on a weak team I guess

I think Archibald's situation is similar.

you need to post aggressively about retaining/acquiring draft picks if you want to convince me you dont share an opinion with Lefty and stringer

They don't need to waive anyone. Archibald has an AHL contract, and a PTO with the Canucks. He doesn't count unless they sign him to an NHL contract. Gaunce goes on LTIR, and Baertschi and/or H. Sedin could potentially be on IR to start the season.

I think without Archibald signed, they are fine to meet the roster deadline. Still need to sort him out but it buys them a few days

Every preseason coaches seem to keep one or two hard working guys around as examples and to keep some players honest during meaningless scrimmages and preseason games.

It's all about the environment and opportunities....

Naslund could not make it in Pittsburgh.

Neely could not make it in Vancouver.

Give some guys a new uniform and an opportunity and they make it work.

I think we were talking about Mittlestadt... or someone else out of that draft class.

1040 saying Archibald just left rink with all his gear. I hope he get's a shot later in the year.
He deserved a shot after the camp he had.

This means Boeser and Virtanen made the team if Wiercoch is indeed waived and Archibald going to Utica

Thanks Carol, I have always valued your opinions and analysis of talent over any other poster on these boards.

I certainly didn't think Pedan would ever make the Canucks full time, and we get to see if Pouliot will ever pan out.

Oh and let's not forget that coveted 4th round Benning gave up.

Fire JB, hire HB drama queen.

I'm with Lefty on this, I like the trade.

- Makita

Dude, he didn't give up the 4th, he just tossed it in there.
I'm so tired of him deciding to throw picks into the trades. Losing that 4th is going to set this franchise back, big time.

Easy choice IMO. Gotta feel for him though, hopefully an NHL team comes calling
