I think Draisatle has a ton to prove as well - the money being thrown around is ridiculous. At that price, almost better off bridging players for 3 years and then going for the big contract. Problem is it used to be a deal, like the Taveres contract now the big money is expected up front.

Matthews 9mln AAV salary. But 5mln+ in long term endorsement deals.
Same for Marner (2m+ in endorsement), and possible for Nylander (1-2mln in endorsement).

Chevy has his faults, but getting Sheif and Ehlers both locked upfor7 years under 6.2 annually is f'in awesome. Although I'm sure Trouba will try and rape us on his next deal.
