maybe so... but at least admit that the Leafs are doing a really awesome job of it.. AND that they deserve to be able to do so after carrying literally half the league financially for years.

personally, I like the old days of no salary cap.. so teams like Detroit did in the 90s just buy everyone they want and ice a team of all-stars.

you should realize that had it not been for Ballard's absolute stupidity the Leafs would have been a much better team than they were.. .and that would mean less interest in teams like the Senators, Jets or any of the other Canadian teams.

and if the Leafs were "identified" as cheaters then they would have had to give back a draft pick - which they would likely give to Vancouver for pitty ... who would take another stud like Jake Virtanen.

you can't have it both ways... enjoying ripping into Leaf fans for "planning th parade" and 50 years , yadda yadda yadda... but then resenting when they do things cleverly to benefit themselves.

Dont even bother, everyone who bashed the leafs are losers and wish they had our team now. The Oilers and Leafs will be bringing the heat for years to come now and they cant do jack poop about it

Just rewatching a Det v Tor preseason. Millard and the SN team were talking about Kadri falling on Howard...injuries to the knees, hips, blah, blah....but Greene clearly pushed Kadri on his own goalie, Howard.


I would like to see a new rule and penalties for defensemen who push the opposing player onto their own goalie. I (frank)ing hate it and it sucks for the goalies.

not saying its a bad idea... but what would call the penalty "two minutes for being a stupid moron"... they already have interference on the books... not sure they need anything else.

given how much an effect the slashing to the hands can have IF CALLED... this would be similar... does send a message if the rules are enforced.

Probably add it to Embellishment. They are kinda trying to embellish goalie interference.

It would cut down on some of the goalie injureies and with Kreider around....not a bad thing.

I think the thing with the new $10m/$12m deals is that in about 3 years they will seem as cheap as Crosby's deal.

Mcdavid Matthews Echiel are different cases. They are franchise players and there aren't many players that are going to be better than them for decades so that's why they get so much.

Personally I don't see Andersen nor Mason (/Hellebuyk) being Vezina candidates.. Leafs D still very doubtful, BUT Leafs PK normally should be good (top10 last year, vs bottom5 pk winnipeg). And Leafs PP is expected to be better as well (2nd in league vs. Winnipeg 18th).

If Leafs can keep up those levels on special teams, I expect that to be the difference.
5v5 Wpg might outscore Tor tonight, Toronto outscoring Wpg on special teams.

(obviously special teams, in particular PK includes goaltending, so I don't think these are 'mutually exclusive' by nature).
