I feel sorry for Matthews when he signs that 8.5x10 year deal next year after winning a cup - TheMussel
Damn! Not only is Lou gonna get Matthews to agree to only 8.5, but he's somehow going to sign him for 10 years? Well, it's Lou, so he probably could make it happen.
Lou Lams, "We're signing Matthews for 10 years Gary. Deal with it." |

Laine 201 Goals (200 empty netters) 40 assists - GingKilmour
How many into his own net?
And I guess he's only gonna get one "Laine Hattrick" this season. (1PP goal, 1 empty net goal, and 1 goal into his own net) |

Should be an interesting game tomorrow night. We never seem to win in Winnipeg and Laine always plays well against us. I'm not sure what to expect, with Winnipeg having something to prove, out of the gate. It's kind of a weird opponent to start the season, not playing a divisional game, let alone a conference game. At least, it'll be out of the way. I predict that the Leafs will be second in the Atlantic and the Habs will be life and death to catch a wildcard position. Ottawa and Tampa Bay will be our main opponents for the top spots. |

I figure that it'll be a wide open tilt. Little defense and lots of opportunities. Take the Proline over, in this one. Leafs defense will get a workout.

Leafs have a lot to prove as well.
The Goaltending will decide this one...Steve mason sucks and isn't much of an improvement over last year

Cary Price is their saving grace. Weber is still a great defender. They have a team with 2 decent lines and a plethora of grinders. Their defense is 3 deep and 3 bottom pair defenders. Their depth is less than average and very little on the farm. The only way that they succeed, is having a year with few man games lost. However, the way that players like Shaw and his ilk play, that's a longshot.

I'm annoyed that little girl is back singing the anthems at Leaf home games. She screams. I go to the kitchen when she sings. - GCHonda
Egads - you should never be allowed to take "creative" liberties with an anthem.
And I'm right there with you...when she starts, time to get a beer - at Super Store. |

Yup. First 5-10 games tend to be a little higher scoring; until teams settle in.
Combine that with all the firepower on both teams. We're looking at a big night.
