L1: Hyman - Matthews - Nylander
L2: JVR - Bozak - Marner
L3: Marleau - Kadri - Komarov
L4: Martin - Fehr - Brown
ex: Moore - Leivo
P1: Rielly - Hainsey
P2: Gardiner - Zaitsev
P3: Borgman - Carrick
ex: Marincin
G1: Anderson
G2: McElhinney
So is that the opening lineup?
Maybe flip Moore, but still Fehr was thought to be a long shot and made it so it feels like he earned it? Some people don't seem to think the optics matters but I'm glad Moore doesn't start in the AHL.
Borgman is the new Polak! Less snarl but more skill, I think to start a better fit with Carrick than Rosen.
Liljegren could probably learn a thing or two from Rosen on the Marlies. - Blazed
I'm not sure why people are comparing Borgman to Polak.. Polak was kinda a big oof who occasionally would run guys from behind super dangerously lol.
Borgman has far more skill, and goes for the clean open-ice Kronwall type hits. I think Borgman will be this years Zaitsev but far more entertaining.
Also Rosen with Liljegren on the Marlies would be great. |

11M for Matthews - GingKilmour
Matthews' agent, "Eichel got $10 million per year. We want $11 million."
Lou, "He got that much because he now has to live in Buffalo."
Agent, "Damn."
Lou, "$8 million a year X 8 years."
Agent, "Deal." |

For the record, the Leafs have exactly two of our first rounders from that era with the big club. |

For a guy who, by his own admission, hasn't done anything yet, Eichel sure asked for a lot of money. And the "C" too! I've never wanted a contract to blow up in team's face more than this one. |

He's a similar build, plays physical and will play more of a D first with Carrick on the bottom pair. Pretty easy comparison.
Polak was actually a strong skater one pre-season game aside. Not much of first pass but his skating was solid. |

If the agent crumples up the offer and throws it on the ground, look out. |

McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
As @KathrynTappen and @DarrenDreger alluded to, BUF and Jack Eichel closing in on 8 year extension with AAV expected in $10M range. - Tumbleweed
Two things:
1. What the (frank) does Dreger know?
2. Range? That doesn't mean $10m, it could mean $8-10, $9.25...(frank)ing could mean anything. I bet he is signing for $8.5-9.5 RANGE. |
