Weise needs to be a 25 point per 82 game player if he's not on the PP, so we'll see if he can get back to that. I'd rather have him on 3LW than Lehtera, who is currently the other option on the roster who isn't already lined up somewhere else.
- Feanor

If it wasn't for the chemistry between Laughton and Raffl I'd prefer to see this:

Raffl-Filppula-Konecny
Leier-Laughton-Weise

But we'll see if that 4th line is worth keeping together or Weise justifies his spot.

3. AMac with Provorov. Promote Gudas to establish a legitimate top pair. AMac can be another rookie's safety net.
- Baxter27

Agree with Gudas being on the top pair. But I think the Rookie might be AMac's safety net.

After all...Provy was his safety net last year.

So in the last 14 games of the season he just started "being good"? Man, I wish he tried that earlier!

No. He played better, but not to a point where you can say that 10 points in 14 games was anything other than luck. If he plays the same way this year, he is going to shoot 20%?

He'll be a lot better this year than he was last.

I don't know what you're trying to twist here but I didn't say any of that. I thought he played solid for most of the season. Things clicked for him with Schenn and Couturier and he certainly showed he can contribute beyond a 4th line role. He wasn't just a plug getting lucky.

Since I'm sure I'm coming off as Mr. Positive, here are my top 3 issues with the current line up.

1. Filppula in the slot on PP1. I saw him attempt one shot during pre-season and it was not dangerous. Schenn generally would be 5+ in a game.

2. Morin in the press box. The kid could not of done more to earn a spot in the line up tomorrow night.

3. AMac with Provorov. Promote Gudas to establish a legitimate top pair. AMac can be another rookie's safety net.

so was there an announcement about what Dmen are playing?

Jordan Weal: 8 goals/12 points in 23 games played. Shooting percentage: 16.3.

"Are you kidding me Hakstol, how did you cut this kid?"

Dale Weise: 10 points in 14 games. Shooting perentage 20%

Going based on the assumption he was paired with the "injured" Ghost.

Provorov will surely make the jump to being a force out there with AMac by his side. Match made in heaven.

lol Jordan Weal isn't going to shoot 16% for the year either. He was still noticeable on every shift and looked to be the creator of most of those points. It was skill that was lacking the entire season for the Flyers.

Let's start an extended blood feud in NHL18 beginning with a midnight (on the dot) game tonight.

Most of what we do here is speculate

At least Cote's has significant value considering he was Weal's coach and spent 10+ years with the Flyers, 7 as a coach.

- JFlyers00

I would need to hear more on that from Cote. I'd also like to know when the politics stopped concerning Weal. Maybe Cote has an agenda, I don't know. All I know is the Flyers development path they used with Weal seems to have worked to this point.

...and thats why I don't get all the anger right now. Even with Manning and Weise and MacDonald, this lineup is better than last year's lineup.

Is now a bad time to point out that players who start the season in the AHL are not doomed to play there for the rest of the season? Is it also a bad time to point out that they have 3 games in 4 nights on the road again... just like last year?

The Flyers' playoff dreams werent squashed last year until they followed that 10 game winning streak of theirs with an extended funk.

Tell me that the Rangers, Penguins, Caps, and 'Jackets are all better this year than last. Please tell me that. I've got my mocking, derisive laugh all lined up and ready to go.

People, relax. We might make the playoffs this year.

Yeah.. I know.. the Islanders and Canes are supposed to be good this year.

I've seen the Islanders (minus Tavares) and you know what? They looked slower than the Flyers.

The Canes have been about to turn the corner for like.. five years now. I'll believe it when I see it.
