Hextall says they will not offer an ELC to Ivan Kosorenkov. Deadline was tomorrow.

Why does it have to be an either/or situation?
- BiggE

A free Provorov only seems like a reality to me when I'm dreaming or drunk.

Apparently, in the eyes of Hak:

AMac = Eric Desjardins
Manning = Chris Therien (before he got fat and slow)

I can, sort of, understand Hak wanting one of them in the lineup, preferably AMac. But I just can't fathom the reasoning of dressing Manning over Morin.

I've been beating this drum for a while, their talent evaluation at the NHL level is really concerning. They overrate vets to a comical level.

As much as a I poop on Amac, he's fine as a bottom pair defender. He's actually perfect to have around with the kids cause he does have the ability to play a top 4 role (Not well IMO, but he can certainly eat those minutes) for a short period of time if they struggle. He has no business ever being on the top pair again though.

Manning sucks. He's basically the opposite of what you want the kids to turn into.

They also seem to really overrate Filpula. Moving G to wing to leave him at center is so (frank)ing dumb. But oh well, Coots is the 1C now so all the Coots=3C poeple can officially suck a fat one.

Did I say something wrong lol? I mean obviously kidding about the eyes (not that his blue eyes aren't bad at all), but in preseason he displayed a shoot-first mentality and was rewarded 2 goals. Flyers love to play with the puck and our two best forwards are pass first guys. Sometimes you just need to fire away with traffic and Leier didn't hesitate to do so.

Nothing wrong, I just read into it my own dirty thoughts. Nothing to see here, move along...

I need a reason. I'm sorry hextall owes the fanbase a reason when he eventually sends one down. Past, future, present, fit isn't good enough

Julius Honka, who was the 14th pick in 2014, is going to start the season as a healthy scratch for the Stars who will also be carrying 8 dmen. I guess Hitch is too much of a college-boy coward to even start one rookie on defense.

Using Hitch as a role model for developing talent at the NHL level now, are we?

Even if Ghost is feeling better, I doubt they want him to start off the season playing back to back nights. With that in mind, assuming Hak gets a clue and doesn't dress the immortal Brandon Manning, perhaps we see:

Wednesday
Provorov-AMac
Sanheim-Gudas
Morin-Hagg

Thursday
Provorov-AMac
Morin-Gudas
Ghost-Hagg

If so, and assuming they then, sadly, send down Sanheim and recall Read (I mean hell, you can never have too much experience in the press box), hopefully Hak has another epiphany and realizes that Andrew MacDonald should NEVER be on an NHL team's top pair. With that in mind, the D for game 3 ends up being:

Provorov-Gudas
Morin-AMac
Ghost-Hagg

Now, if the hockey Gods so will it, during game 3 Morin will have an unsuspecting forward lined up in his sights. However, at the last second, the forward will see him coming and just barely get out of the way, causing Morin to slam into AMac at full throttle and thus, for their 4th game against Nashville, we finally get the D we deserve:

Provorov-Hagg
Sanheim-Gudas
Morin-Ghost

And all was right in the world.

This keeps bouncing around in my head.

They will be opening the season with four rookies (two forwards, two defensemen) penciled in as starters. They also have a second-year forward (Konecny) and second-year defenseman (Provorov) as regulars in the lineup. Ghost has all of 142 games of NHL experience. That's a lot of youth in the lineup.

Come on, people! Get a hold of yourselves. We are zero games into the season right now. Relax.

He can't be a role model for stating rookies on D when he's starting zero and this team is starting at least one, likely two.

Not watching that game. My protest won't mean poop, but I'm not exposing myself to a that lineup.

Morons.

Ok that's enough silliness. Sorry just found out I'll be at the Broncos/Eagles game. Someone is going to get killed that day. Namely me!

Did you watch last year when Bellemare, Cousins, Gordon, Read, Schultz, Streit and VandeVelde were in the lineup, as well as MacDonald, Manning and Weise?
