If anything, Morin should be at the top of the "lock" list when it comes to the rookies. - MBFlyerfan

I wonder if we will see cuts today or tomorrow. I read that Sunday they want to basically have a dress rehearsal so I wonder if today, since it is an off day, or tomorrow they could have the roster at what they want it to be. |

Would make sense to make the cuts they're at least sure about today rather then tomorrow when they may need to face the media. |

Gotta agree with you again, Bill. It's becoming an annoying habit! I definitely think Lindblom is getting sent down and I'm completely okay with that. That'a very positive sign for our depth and the AHL will definitely not hurt his development. It's an enviable position for our Flyers to be in. |

Read IMO has not done enough to garner a roster spot on opening night. I have this feeling Lindblom gets sent to LHV and Leier makes this team.
On the backend, I don't know how you send one of Sanheim/Hagg/Morin down. The kids while still making the odd mistake, make more positive things happen then negative from what I have seen. Amac needs to be sent to AHL and Manning as the 7th I think.
I was very impressed with Lyon tonight. He looks calm and cool in net and his rebound control tonight was impressive. - Buzzo
Agreed on the forwards. I get what you're saying about Hagg but he just doesn't "do it for me". He doesn't stand out in any single positive way when I watch him. He's still shaky on O and D. Morin really stands out and Sanheim is more of an eye-catcher on O. I can't say which of the two, Hagg/Sanheim, are better on D in the amount of games I've watched in the preseason. |

Another adjustment that needs to be made. Filppula needs to come out of the slot on PP1.
I'd try these options in order:
Voracek
Lindblom
Couturier
Laughton - Baxter27
Agree! Not sure how it helps the PP having another passer? |

I think the top unit needs a change. I would put Gostisbehere in Voraceks spot if they want to run the umbrella look. that gives another shooting threat. Maybe put Sanheim at the top and Giroux in his spot. Voracek can slide in the slot.
I think with more of a threat to shoot on the other halfwall, it could open some seam passes or passes in the slot. |

Definitely one of my biggest gripes about Nolan so far has been his skating, pretty average speed so far and doesn't have the burst he's shown in juniors. I know he was never the fastest skater but I'm guessing its because of the sports hernia surgery that he looks a little slow to me |

Agreed. I'd rank the rookie D:
1. Morin
2. Hagg
3. Sanheim
All 3 deserve to be on the team IMO, and have outplayed Manning and Amac thus far. I am concerned with what Bill has brought up though. I could see them not wanting to go with such a young blue line leaving Sanheim the odd man out. I don't think this would be fair, but it is what it is.
With all the rookies, there will definitely be some ups and downs. I'm more than ready to ride this roller coaster though. At least I'll be entertained. |

I don't need Gostisbehere to snipe from there. But his one timer could create problems from there as he could blow one by the goalie or it could create rebound chances. |

I think Lindblom has had a decent -- not great, but far from poor -- camp.
I think Sanheim deserves to be on the big team. However, have heard there is a concern about 3 rookies - bmeltzer
I think Lindblom is competing with Weise for the last available Top 9 spot and I think Weise has played pretty well. Weise could shift to a 4th line role but that doesn't make sense for Lindblom when he could be getting top minutes in the AHL. That, to me, is the question there. Could go either way.
I think the 3 rookies on D have earned their spots, especially Sanheim and Morin. You have to give credit to Manning for stepping up last night but I think the decision is between him and AMac. Other teams have had exceptionally young D. CAR had 3 rookies a couple seasons back and NSH has had a few very young D in the past too. This is part of the process if you want to build your D through the system over a short period of time. Don't chicken out on your own plan. |

All aspects of his game have been solid.
I really wish there wasn't an issue with, "having too many rookies".
They really aren't being true to their word about the best players, "earring their shot".
Although we'll see, but when pressed about having 3 rookies on D the other night, Hex didn't look all too comfortable. |

I understand the "it's a big leap to the NHL" argument, but some people act like these guys have never played hockey before. In the end, its the same game they have been playing their entire lives. Faster, and bigger and quicker...yes.....but its still the same game.
I also understand the "it's easier for a rookie forward than it is for a rookie defenseman" argument, but damn, these kids are all better than Manning and Amac RIGHT NOW. You play them. We need to know what we have and this season is the best chance to do it when the expectations to win the cup are low.

Agree 100%
Hell, when it comes to an all around game and overall talent, these kids are better than any Flyers Dman not named Provorov!
