Who cares.

He can do it if he wants, end of story. It's harmless and here's the buzzword- peaceful. It's not what I would have done 2 weeks ago but you know what? After the President's comments last week it's turned into more of a "unification" thing, and I'd join him.

That's all I'm saying on it.

If a pharmacist kneels on his raised platform, is he really kneeling?

You're wrong. It is getting across. People are talking about it. CRIPES MAN, we're talking about it. If they weren't taking a knee in the NFL it would be just another day. I've seen these people talk about boycotting this or that but it never has a lasting impact.

I'll just let it go at that rather than bringing this in here.

What are the majority people talking about patriotism or police brutality against African Americans? I hear a lot more the flag then I hear about cops at this point.

But your right, not the place for this discussion.

Where can we discuss your theories on why the ratings for Nascar are so bad? It can't be because of protests that you have solely attributed the drop in NFL ratings to, despite the truth being far more complex than that.

The article I cited said 32% down because of protests. Where did I write solely? Or is almost a 3rd down not significant number of those that left?

Of course there is. The interesting thing is that there are actually rules in the NFL rule book forbidding what the players are doing. Subject to fine, suspension, and loss of draft picks.

No there isn't.

I was driving down White Horse Road in NJ near the skate zone earlier today and am 100% sure I drove by Dave Hakstol in a flyers shirt and flyers hat walking down the sidewalk, already close to a mile away from the skate zone and walking away from it lol. I don't know if he walked to work today, wanted to get some cardio in outside, or was going to pick something up from the Voorhees target, but I chuckled.

Read the article. If the number of white people who were giving up on the NFL due to black players kneeling and wanted to watch another sport without protests was significant, Nascar ratings would not be in the toilet.

Some high-profile surveys blamed Colin Kaepernick and other pre-game protesters. And there is no question that many Americans are personally offended by pre-game demonstrations. But this explanation is unsatisfying, for two reasons. First, Kaepernick isn’t on any NFL team in 2017, and Week 1 viewership this year was even lower than 2016, in some windows. What’s more, there is some evidence that the number of people who watched any part of an NFL game increased in 2016, and ratings only dropped because fewer people watched until the end. This suggests that the quality of the gameplay, not the tenor of politics, was the more important culprit.

But each of these explanations are specific to football, which means they ignore the larger, and more important truth: Ratings are down for everything, except for cable news. Out of 78 prime-time broadcast series that aired in both 2016 and 2017, only one—ABC’s The Bachelor—increased viewership among people under 50. Just about every live sport is dealing with the same problem. NASCAR, although praised by Trump for its fealty to the national anthem, opened its most recent playoffs with the lowest ratings ever. Last year, the NBA had some of its lowest-rated games ever, as well.

I went to back to school night at my daughter's school last night. There was a general assembly and a member of the Cub Scouts said The Pledge of Allegiance. I was worried that someone may refuse to stand as an act of protest. Thankfully, no one did.

Do you have stock in NASCAR? You seem very upset that the ratings were down.

NASCAR is almost exactly like the team sport of football that I too am surprised football fans didn't end up watching them instead. I mean turning left for four hours is about as close as it gets.

Hold on, I haven't even weighed in on any of this, but this reads like you just said ratings were down 32% due to protests.

320 of 1000 people polled October 2 and 3 last year answered they were "less likely to watch NFL game telecasts because of the Kaepernick-led player protests against racial injustice." Who knows how many of them actually did or did not watch a game, and that 32% answering does not mean ratings dropped 32%.

Also, Rasmussen was the pollster according to that article, and rasmussen is not a particularly reliable or unbiased pollster. In their political polling in 2016, they faired worse than most reputable pollsters in an already bad year, and only called 79% of races correctly.

Edit: Also, the main driving reason that all ratings for everything are going to continue dropping is cord cutting.

Looks like Leier will make it. Six rookies in the lineup opening night!

Oh great. Passing through facebook and tripped over "Flyers Feed" post about Simmonds kneeling or not in San Jose.

Well fans certainly are showing their love and support for the guy. They're going to fire him across the border in a cannon. Apparently he's a guest here and should keep his opinion to himself sort of like when you go to a house party and the host is beating his wife so you grab a beer and stand on the porch until everything calms down.

He's shown more than Lehtera and Read. He's above them on my depth chart.

That's an opinion which is not how your post presented itself. In my opinion Leier is not a better player over Lehtera.

Love Fabbri and that sucks big time.....

.....but Flyers own the Blues' pick. Now they basically have to use Schenn at center.

They're still too good at defense, wing, goal to finish bottom 10. Closer to 15 is now a bigger possibility. I'm sure they will make some trade.....maybe Lehtera lol?

Rooting against the blues this year is gonna be exciting

You really think they'd be that pedestrian this year?

They've been a pretty solid team for a few years now haven't they? Without looking it up. Definitely a recent playoff team

Re-injured his surgically repaired left knee from last year (ligament damage).

Don't root too hard there are protections, but like I said above.....root 10-15. 15-20 is still really solid.
