Quick update of what happened with Morin and Farnham?
- jmatchett383

Morin plowed some dude... Farnham decided that legitimate hits can't go unpunished and challenged Morin getting pounded in the process.

the white collar on these new adidas jerseys looks like they're wearing (frank)ing toilet seats around their necks. it's a good look.

On the losing side of the scoreboard right now but lot's of good signs out there. I really like the physical play of Lindblom and how he seems to be around the puck a lot. Both Lindblom and Patrick go to the net and the dirty areas of the ice. Sanheim lost a puck battle which is going to happen occasionally but where is the coverage around the net? Giroux and Voracek out for that goal also.

It never should have been a puck battle, he had the time to make the simple play up either board to the corner or half board for a better battle position/exit position. Instead he stickhandled while alone and stationary behind his own net. On the second goal, Sanheim was also screening his goaltender while neither covering his man or a passing lane. Stepped right into centre ice during a point shot. He has electric puck skills but I stand by my comment from awhile ago. He's not ready. He'll be really good, but not yet. He'll be here soon enough.

You're really forcing this, huh? I admire the tenacity.

He wasn't screening the goalie from one angle they showed. Raffl screened, and it was really just a good shot. As for the turnover, Elliott was a little slow giving him time. He turned it over. poop happens. Didn't know d-men never ever ever turn pucks over. Wasn't anything egregious, and really that play is just as much on Manning chasing and Giroux not covering either.

It wasnt a great fight, Morin didnt land anything that looked like an absolute bomb, but.... Farnham was totally overmatched. I didnt realize he's only 5'10, but thats what they said.

I'm not the one that's made at least a dozen comments on the topic of Sanheim in the last week. I'm not forcing anything. I have my opinion. You can have yours.

It does happen on occasion. Desharnais reached in with his stick and broke the puck loose. There needs to be layers of coverage in the defensive zone. There never should be two opposition players open around the net for cross ice tap in like that. That's the kind of crap that plagued the team last year and needs to be cleaned up.

Some times the way you clean things up is get rid of the guys that played that way.
