Foo on the top line with monahan and tkachuk ....he's been kinda underwhelming this preseason to me ...if he doesn't do something tonight he should be Stockton bound

Yeah but after watching Benny/Gaudreau & Ferland on Friday, I want that line to stick & think Tkachuk with how he plays & able to distribute the puck would be a perfect fit for Monahan So I am really hoping this line does amazing things tonight & GG keeps them together on Oct 4th :-}

I would support that

Johnny Bennett Ferland
Tkachuk Monahan Foo*
Janko Backlund Frolik

I like the way that balances out our top 9

*Versteeg would be our plug and play guy for those lines.

Fat Rass looks pretty effin poised and confident with the puck. What do you fellas think? Kulak looks good but it's gonna be tough to send rass back down imo

I think ras has been better too ...but I just think they will want ras to go down and dominate the ahl too

Kulak's made a couple of bad plays this game, but he still probably gets the job out of camp. T-spoon has not been very good this game from what I've seen--I'd probably give him the 7th d spot.

By the end of the year I think Kylington-Rass could end up being a better pairing than Stone-Kulak. Put them together on the top pairing in Stockton and let them build that chemistry... Stone has not done anything to impress me this pre-season

That was if Foo ended up clicking with that line. Janko on the 3M line just makes sense to me. He's left handed and he can learn from Backlund.

To be fair to stone he has been dressed as the top pairing guy against NHL calibre lineups most nights ...once he returns to his normal roll he will be fine

I get your angle and it's not a bad thought but there's no way a rookie bumps versteeg down the lineup ...I just don't see it ever happening even if we wanted it to

Stone has looked like the guy who just signed that 10.5 mill contract or whatever it was hey. Job security=complacency. T-spoon is just so mediocre, he doesn't really do much well. Shill and Rass can light it up in the A then have the confidence to come up on spot duty if injuries occur.

Wasn't really a fan of the signing at the time. I was just hoping he'd be noticeably better than he was last year.

I honestly think that Kylington & Rass are both going to surpass him this year.

Probably not no. But hey, versteeg on that wing instead would be pretty cool too. The more I think about it the more I like the idea of using Tkachuk to bring a little fire into Monahan's game (I'd love a Bennett-Tkachuk duo too though).

Johnny Backlund Bennett
Tkachuk Money Ferland
Versteeg Jankowski Jäger
Frolik Lazar Brouwer

I have not seen enough from Foo to make the team this year and I wouldn't be surprised if BT brings in some veteran experience!

I wouldn't break up Backlund and Frolik, they compliment each other so well. Lazar definitely hasn't earned a spot over Stajan- he was not very good again tonight.

I don't think BT is going to bring in help now. Janko has looked more than capable of playing in the top 9.

Some of these Oilers fans really make me sad for my friends that are Oiler fans that have some actual hockey intelligence
Sometimes I make fun of them cause I assume they are as stupid as the ones on these boards and then realize I wouldn't be friends with them if they were

- cpltanto

Fuk that, I give your team all the credit they deserve. You guys just overhype your prospects too much. Ortio, T-spoon, Porier.....and now tour doing the same thing with Kylington, your goalie prospects Jankowski and Bennett.

Missed the game. Anyone give me a recap of who looked like the real deal and who looked AHL bound? How was Foo? Who looked good on D?
