The Laval team is gonna suck hard this year.....
- Mashadar

I was thinking the exact same thing
I guess we can assume the Armada is safe.

Honeslty, the rookie tournament 2 weeks ago was more interesting. these kids had more talent and speed than the ones we see now.

1) Fire the whole AHL coaching staff ... the results speak for themselves.

2) Fire the whole Scouting Staff, see item 1.
.
3) Start from scratch and commit to a proper rebuild with COMPETENT people.

4) Give a rebate to any foolish fans who are going to buy tickets for the next few years.

Enough said!

They won the face-off battle. So not all is lost.

I agree with 1...hard to agree with 2 if I agree with 1. Not a mountain to die on though

I forgot to say that they should fire everyone on the second floor and fumigate the whole place ... like the Leafs did a few years ago.

Broll should make the lineup just for the opp to be concussed. Never saw a dude talk so much and do so little

But those Leafs players are not on the Habs payroll.... what - 3 of them tonight? Nothing says winning like bringing in guess that missed the playoffs forever...

True.

And in fairness, the waiver wire is gonna go nuts with players soon, so the Habs will get their center from that....

The problem is our best players are not getting any younger and our upcoming players just can't replace them.

We are seriously (frank)ed at this point ... better to address the problem sooner than later.

EDIT: When management gives an obscene contract to a freakin' goalie, you know we have nothing to look forward to in terms of traditional Canadiens's hockey .... speeed and offfense. This organisation's sole purpose is now to extract as much money from sucker's wallets.

new system, vets are slowly increasing their level of effort, other than Hudon, none of the young guys are ready. Sucks that Poehling and Ikonen are not there, other than those 2...not much talent in the farm offensively with NHL potential

Same cycle the team has been in for 30 years... never really poopty enough to get a lot of top 10 picks, not good enough to go deep int he playoffs.

Let's face it, McCarron (poor skating) and Sherbak (no agressiviy) are total busts ... and these guys don't seem to have any desires to win.

Total scouting/development failures.

EDIT: Hudon seems like the only guy who has a pulse and gets it.

I see Hemsky as replacing (some) of Radulov's offense. If he provides even 40 points this year, that's a pretty good deal.

If you count Hemsky as Radulov's replacement (production-wise), then there's the addition of Johnathan Drouin and Charles Hudon, who both seem poised to a have solid season. Count in rebound years for Plekanec, Gallagher and (somewhat) Galchenyuk, and Lehkonen and Danault continuing to take a step forward, and you've got yourself quite a bit more offense.

On defense, replacing Markov's production will be tough, but Jerabek has been quite good so far, so perhaps he can take on some of Markov's minutes and run with it.

A lot of things have to go right - Drouin working as a top-line center, Hemsky producing and being healthy, everyone rebounding from bad years while nobody else has any, guys continuing to develop, and no injuries. But if everything goes right, the Habs roster may be underrated and perhaps capable of going the distance.
