Unfortunately we won't know as of now who is better (Canada or US).
I would have loved to seen what team the Americans would have put together. Jack, Auston, Johny, all the d carolina has and the list goes on. One sick young american team.

Canada. And it's not close bro.

Seriously, I don't take a ton of pride in it or anything. Just sayin.

Haha you really are clueless but thanks for playing EH....

And we'll see who's better but not today.... your team win one series and you think they are cup contenders, now that's funny.

- gordong

I didn't say that hey we they were cup contenders, I said they were better than the Sabres. Pretty huge difference.

The Buffalo airport is outstanding.

I fly to Florida a few times a year and it is at the point where I will pay more and drive longer to get to the Buffalo airport rather than leave from Toronto. The longest time it has ever taken me to check my bags and go through security was 18 minutes.

How is it possible to pay more flying from Buffalo as opposed to Toronto? Flying in or out this God forsaken country is the biggest rip off known to man. (frank) Canadian Airline fees, Taxes...etc

And how the (frank) is a Flight to England from Edmonton cheaper than a flight to TOronto , when your flight actually stops in Toronto?

Every other Goddamn country in the modern world has this figured out yet we get gouged?

It isn't close. For every great young player you can put on the ice we have one ( or 3) that is better.

You ice Mathews and Eichel, we ice Crosby and McDavid . It's the same at every position.

Hey Larssonfan, you forgot to mention all time record -- how convenient.

Buffalo: GP 3,656 W 1702 L 1415 T 409 OTL 130
Percentage of points earned .539 (7th all time)

Edm: GP 2944 W 1326 L 1215 T 262 OTL 141
Percentage of points earned .519 (14th all time)

The Oilers have been the laughing stock of the entire NHL since the day they traded Greztky. They did win a cup without him, but since 1990, they have the 2nd worst winning percentage of all non-franchise teams. I'm not sure how old you are (I'm guessing 11 or 12) but I doubt you were around to see the glory days. Most likely all you have had to see is the 2nd worst franchise in the NHL over the past 27 years.

4 1st round picks, and drafting in the top 10 almost every single year since then, and it still took winning a freaking lottery AGAIN to get McDavid -- to actually be relevant again.

The Oilers are a joke of a franchise. They have been so pathetic that the NHL had to change the draft lottery system because of them. To say you have a far superior franchise is the most ridiculous thing I've ever head, giving further proof you are just a complete idiot, and a complete loser.

I'll say this one more time. There ARE other things to do with your life than troll hockey sites, and make a fool of yourself. Try getting a hobby that doesn't include being glued to your dial-up internet connection, and 7" monitor. Try to actually get off of that 1994 Apple Macintosh PC, and get outside. You might even meet a fellow or 2...

Hey Spazz, That a joke of a franchise is still better than your favourite team. Wanna make an Avatar bet on who gets more points this season? Assuming, of course, that you have the balls.

You can run the Oilers down all you want, I don't actually disagree with any of it, it was a pathetic 10 years....but don't be strutting around like your team was something amazing when they were only slightly better than the laughing stock of the league.

Do you really believe team usa's roster is similar in talent level to Canada's as of 2017?
Seriously ?

You know that Carolina young defence u spoke of with a 20 year old hanifin and slavin etc?.
heres who Canada would answer with;
Drew doughty, shea weber, pk subban, Alex pietrangelo, Brent burns, Duncan Keith, kris letang, ma vlasic etc etc

You know those few young studs u named up front?
Here's who Canada would answer with;
Connor mcdavid, sid Crosby, seguin, benn, Bergeron, getzlaf, stamkos, giroux, Marchand, hall, toews, etc etc

Everyone has studs at the top, it's the depth where Canada runs away with it. They're still running out superstars on their 4th line and 3rd pair.

As I said, it's not something I take huge pride in any longer as it hasn't been close for almost a decade. havent u been paying attention?
Canada could run out two teams and probably wouldn't miss a beat.

And it's YOU'RE delusional. not your.
Indeed bro, indeed

All 3 of our teams have been pretty poor for quite some time. Oilers and Leafs look to be turning it around, hopefully Buffalo does starting this year.

Sorry man, but when your team hasn't won one Cup you don't really have a platform to stand on. Nobody, NOBODY really cares about winning percentages, President's Trophies, or individual awards. It's all about Cups and rings.

Canada would ice a better team, as always. USA would've been able to put together one of their best Rosters in history, no doubt. But Canada would still be much better imo.

Would've been fun to watch, its too bad..

Sure, and the Leafs haven't won one since the Sabres have been in the league. Big deal.

I honestly don't know. How many times have the Leafs been to the Cup Final since the Sabres have been around? The Sabres have gone to 2 since 1970.

The Leafs haven't won since there were only 6 teams in the league, 3/4 of the teams made the playoffs, and you only needed 8 wins to win the Cup. The Leafs also won 3 of theirs during World Wars, so I wouldn't be getting all high and mighty there guy...

Geez man, I come in here trying to be reasonable and you come at me with this poop?
Help me to understand where I was getting all high and mighty? I was talking about the Sabres vs the Oilers, not the Sabres vs the Leafs.

I wasn't slagging on the Sabres, just the fan who wants to use all time winning percentage as a barometer for success.

Sorry, just a general reaction, because a lot of Leafs fans do use that "we won 13 Cups, what has your team done?" thing as to why they're so much better than most other teams.

Lol....the Leafs haven the been to finals since they won it in 67. Sure the Sabres have been there a couple times. You know who else has been there? Everybody. Minnesota was there as the Northstars ( trust me, it means something to the fans), but other than them and Toronto only Columbus, Winnipeg and Arizona haven't tasted the experience. That's gotta be frustrating for a fan base.

You'll understand if your team ever wins one. It is the be all and end all of Hockey. I hated the last 10 years of oilers hockey....but if we win a Cup with Connor, putting up with you Dingalings, all the failed 1st round picks, the losses, the embarrassment...it will all be worth it.

I remember a conference final with LA way back when they were in the Western conference, and one with Buffalo, but I'm not exactly a Leafs historian from the 70's and 80's.

Fair enough man, I understand.

The last Cup the Leafs won was well before my time, they are nothing but historical significance for me.
